What piece of the HID kit actually makes the temperature (light color)? i mean, can i just change out the bulb to change the color? or the ballast? or both?

Yes, you can get imitation HID headlights if that's what you are asking. Search ebay.

 

no no i wanna get a 8500k TEXON HID kit. but if i get trouble by cops i wanna change it to 6500k. so would i just be able to buy the replacement HID bulbs? or do i need to buy a whole new system?

you could replace the bulbs and i belive operatic sells bulbs by themselves for 60 a pair. as for what makes the color, i think its the gas inside that burns that gives off the color. diffrent elements give off diffrent colors. at least thats what i think.
