Default HID starting to burn my oem electrical wire

I been using a HID kit with relay harness from operatic, i recently burnt my bulb and ballast out. When i went to look at the electrical plug i saw it had some sort of residue which look like it came from being burnt out. The oem bulb still work when i put it back in but i was wondering if i installed a new HID kit would it burn out the oem wires? i heard about it being pricey to replace the oem wires. Is there to repair it?

heh...did operatic give you the relay with a ground? I had one from them that didn't have a ground. Hahn at the office isn't helpful, but contact Paul and he'll take care of you. But as for ur OEM harness, yes it's expensive. but with the relay harness, you're only using one side. You still have the other side. Good luck.

i think they did give me a ground. Since i had the black wire from it bolted down with one of the screw in the engine bay.

Another thing you could try is putting conductive grease or gel where all if your conections meet, especially where the oem wire plugs into the ballast. I dunno if this could help your currosion problem or not but maybe. My .02£
