Highest recorded MPG on your tC!!!
I got 22 miles on my first tank, most of which was city driving. It's pretty good considering that it's usually a stop and go for me. Oh, and I'm also still in the breaking in period (just over 500 miles), and just like jaydub, I do have a lead foot as well.

Lowest recorded: 24 (mixed)
Average: 26-27 (mixed)
Best recorded: 28.9 (almost all highway)
I recently switched from highest octane to 87, and I noticed that I have been averaging higher = approx. 28 mpg (mixed). Could the warmer weather be a factor too?

Premium does nothing for your car.
Going to work I drive about 20 miles on the interstate (4 miles on a mountain, down in the morning, up in the evening) and 10 miles on a curvy mountain road. First tank was high 25, last tank was 27.8.
I calculate mi/gal each time i fil up. I drive 98% freeway. Here in CA, freeways are most always stop-n-go all the time!! Yet, I still average 27.8 mi/gal.
The best I've received was from Chevron 87. 32 mi/gal.
Worst mi/gal is a tie between Exxon and Union 76. - 25.x/gal
Traffic sucks

My "old lady" drives our tC to work every day and goes about 73 miles one way...almost all highway. She drives at or below the speed limit and doesn't accelerate fast at all.
The low has been in the mid 20's (when we first got the car) and now it's up to 34/35 for the high end. (A little over 7000 miles now....since the end of February!) We run Mobil Clean 7500 part syn oil and 87 Octane from BJ's.
Funny...the mileage seems to always go down when I use the car.

I get a pretty consistent 27 MPG in combined (mostly city!) driving.
I definitely think Scion did a good job estimating the MPG. Of course, if you're buying a car for the MPG, you probably shouldn't buy a tC...

20-22 (city) 29 (on a 2 hour Highway trip with some limited city driving) 1,700 miles in the car so far.
after the car is fully broken in I should get more of an average 23 for city.
So I am getting what the sticker says, give or take 1-2 MPG, so no surprise.
