you know, if you guys actually read his post before you instantly belittled him for posting something you'd understand how dumb the last 10 replies were

what he's saying is he pulls the lever and it unlocks, but doesn't spring up to the point of being held down by the latch guard that prevents it from opening completely on accident

truthfully I wouldn't worry about it unless it's a pain to get your fingers under there and lift it, and it *could* maybe, in a hundred years, if the moon sets right, cause it to be more of a hazard... see, if it's popped open but not noticeably open and you're driving on the highway doing 70, air could get under there and violently yank the hood up that 2 inches before it locks against the latch, and with enough force, could unhook the latch, or even break it if it's really that much lift because it wouldn't be a constant stopping force, but rather like the force of a car hitting a wall doing 30, rather than a car trying to shove itself into a wall with the force of doing 30mph.....

BTW, my hood pops up about an inch, and there's about another half an inch, maybe three-quarters till it hits the latch

just take it to the dealer and see what they have to say about it, walk around with them and start popping up hoods on all their cars like vans, sedans, trucks etc and see if it's normal, because they'll probably look at you like you just jammered on with the meaning of life

not sure what aggravates me more, people who post seemingly dumb questions, or people who knee-jerk flames on topics ever-so-blindly, but it's a close race.....

thanks otocan. you exactly understood what i was saying. and yes, my family has owned many other cars and they did not do this. that is why i asked this question. yeah, i figure that it is not that big of a problem digging my finger to pull it up a bit, but i would like to have my car in the proper condition given that i bought a new car.

so noone elses car has this problem?
