Even if it wasn't the gas cap, leave the light on. Even if you don't have time, because there's a code in the CPU and the dealership can read it and let you know what happened. It's not going to kill you to leave the light on a couple of days. I mean good thing that's all it was but don't turn the light off until you're sure.

If you don't have time for the dealer, go to AutoZone, buy a cheap scanner and pull the code. If it has to do with your EVAP system, then the gas cap was what caused the code.

To late. I unhooked the battery for 10 minutes...reset windows.if it does it again il bring it in to the dealer...as of now its fine,... 2 start-ups and about 4 miles. no light ...No need for the dealer, ...gas cap was sitting on the stem...not twisted at all.

Il set stereo presets and i just found directions to stop the seat-belt beeping...il be doing that now.

Why is your seat belt buzzing?? was a wire diconnected under the seat? that goes to the seat pressure sensor switch?

The TC seatbelt has a beep beep for about 30 seconds every time you start to move after startup... Every time, very anoying, and I don't use my seat-belt so its even more anoying... I'm not sure if the xb you have does it,my old xa did not.

They give out tickets for not wearing the seat belt - that's why it buzzes. The air bag alone will not save you and if you are in the wrong position when it goes off you can get hurt pretty bad - even holding onto the steering wheel when it goes off can break your hands and arms. My friends mom go bumped from behind in Boston traffic and she slid under the dashboard and couldn't get out - wasn't wearing her seat belt - she was lucky she was not going fast because she lost control of the car when that happened..

It's because I care and don't want the Scion safety rating to get any lower and I knew some very nice people that got thrown out of their cars in accidents.

No the operative word is "knew" they died. One young girl passenger unbuckled her belt to get a book from the back seat - her friend driving got blinded by the sun and thought she saw something in the road ahead swerved and flipped the car at 30 mph - passenger was thrown out the window and was killed instantly. Just a nice college kid.

I just retired from the navy... 20 years ...over 3400 deep sea dives....I dont give a damm about that seatbelt.

Stick to the thread topic.

I went to get gas yesterday....and the gas cap was off again !

The plastic string that holds the cap to the car was pulling at the cap and unscrewing it !.

go ahead and try it....you can open the cap by pulling on the tiny plastic string...EVEN THOUGH ITS CLICKED ON....itried it 5 times.

I cut the string as its pulling the cap open...it stretches as you tighten the cap....and pulls it open.....bad cap maybe

I don't get it, why wouldn't you wear it...it takes every bit of two seconds and could very potentially save your life...

Would you ride a motorcycle without a helmet too?
