in my mind...

everyone starts somewhere in automotive knowledge... i don't think teaching technical information hurts anyone.

no matter how misconcieved their initial ideas are...

tell that to Keisuke Hatakeyama

it's actually very important to understand lift off oversteer when installing a larger rear swaybar on your car

even after that ^^^.... i still feel that the tC(non-Rs*r) should not be drifted(power slid) by this kid... there's way to many factors. Hatakeyama is an expert with a totally different car and a lot of experience. If this kid wants to just have fun, go ahead with the tray drifting. no braking necessary :]

I've read that you can just turn into the corner hard and lose traction, or you can actually use the handbrake to lose traction. Which way is better?
You cannot drift a FWD car so why bother?

yeah... my point basically is i would rather have this kid understand the handling dynamics of putting a rear sway on and know the feeling of the rear end getting light than putting a rear sway on and thinking the a$$ end will never slide out and putting his car into a jersey barrier on an onramp

Lift off oversteer can be extremely dangerous to novice drivers, because they tend to take entry speeds too high... then brake correct mid turn which can cause unexpected lift off oversteer. so if he does buy a rear sway he'll know that it CAN happen, and why it does.

i wounldnt try powersliding on these "made for chick cars"

i learned a expensive lesson doing a e-brake powerslide which was not only a complete failure but had to get new rear side tires which ended up costing $350. =/

EDIT: yeah as they alrdy said...u can do a ff powerslide or drift on wet surface. ..or pebbles if u're retarded. hee

its simple mathematics...

all you have to do it calculate the V(velocity) of beta(your car) to the point were delta 3 and 4 lose traction and the tan theta of your car loses traction and at an angle > 45 dergees to the turn..... cummon man... its not rocket science!!!

all you have to do is drive your car off a cliff, it might actually fly if you go fast enough

This thread is done. Leave the drifting to the professionals, and the RWD cars.
