Default How do you upshift?

I have another question on shifting gears, I keep hearing different things.

When upshifting past first, second and higher do you

Release clutch pedal slowly and only apply gas after letting off the clutch pedal completly?

Release clutch pedal slowly while applying gas slowly until the clutch pedal is released completly?

Release clutch pedal fast and only applying gas after the clutch pedal is released?

Release clutch pedal fast while applying gas slowly?

Release clutch pedal fast while applying gas quickly?

This is my first manual in over 5 years. Anyway I do not think I learned correctly in the past because I think would almost always jerk the car a little when I shifted past first. I always thought that manual cars jerked a little when they shifted. I was a bad shifter and now I want to learn the correct way.

My question is, Is it that hard to just answer the question?

Everyone has a different method it seems, I am just trying to get a larger sample size of peoples upshifting patterns.

either of these will work .. depends on if your cruising or trying to acclerate quickly ... cruisin use the first ... and the other, the other

after awhile you'll get used to driving and it'll be second nature
