Default How to fix this?

my dad used the car yesterday all day and this morning when i got to work i went to the trunk cuz the lid was halfway up and i couldnt see in the back and lo and behold HUGE SCRATCH MARKS. it's not just scratch marks it's like a whole surface area where the paint was scratched. no dent or anything that i can discern. ideas on how to fix and how much $ it's gonna cost? i'll get pictures in during lunch.

Damn Parents all they do for you is support for the first half of your life and then he has the nerve to scratch your car. Some people.

In case you didn't catch on that was sarcasm. I bet he probably pays for the car or insurance and even if he didn't thats no reason to scream at your parent. Grow Up, there is a possibility that somone else did it, there is even a chance it happened before your dad borrowed it. Why don't you give him the respect he deserves, not even as your father just as a person. Maybe if you had gone about it the right way he might of even payed for it, but no you threw a hissy fit.

How deep are the scrathes? Are they down to the base or is it something that can be buffed out?

If you get it painted expect to pay several hundred dollars because they are going to have to blend some more of the car. That sucks! If you can find a bumper of the same color off of Ebay that'd be great but I doubt you will be able to so be prepared to spend some money. I had a scratch that you can barely even see on my xB (An old man swerved into my lane and his tires rubbed my fender) and they wanted to paint my fender and my door to blend and it was going to cost between $400 and $700. I eventually got a lower estimate to have it buffed out. Anyway, I hope everything works out okay. Sorry to hear about all that!

How deep are the scratches?

Are they to the primer? Or are they just in the clear?

It can be buffed out if not too deep, save you hundreds!
