yah i would have used washers but i cant leave my job since i'm the only one here to go buy some so i figured cardboard would work next to best since my butt was itching to get the damn rattle fixed.

Because it seems like in all tC's, there is space between those spots and the hatch, so when you hit bumps, it rattles like a ****. Moving these closer, or padding them seem to work

If this really does fix it, Toyota should issue a TSB. Seems really cheap and easy to fix. They could just make a small rubber pad for each of these points.

I just ran out with some card board and did this.

While I was at it I wrapped the metal with a bit of electrical tape because that is supposed to help to.

I hope this makes that pesky rattle go away!

i used 3 pieces on the bottom catch latch, and 2 pieces each on the side thingy poops. i know how it solves the issue but it'd be too hard to type, but your basically moving the side thingy poops further out so the thingy poops on the actual hatch make a better contact point since theirs the 45 degree angle bend on the side thingy poops. like i said it would be easier to explain in person lol. i just spaced the side thingy poops out until the hatch wouldn't shift side to side when i pushed my hand down on one side of the hatch.

hmm, it helped me out 100%, but i also did the tape around the latch technique too. maybe its those fish scale looking things that are creaking?

If mine starts to creak, I think I will cut up an old bicycle tire inner-tube to use as shims. Trim them after they are mounted and then it would almost look factory.
