^that would mean that you paid approx. $16,528 including tax, tag, dealer fee and delivery, or roughly $14,000 for your tc.......how did you manage that?

I pay $400 a month just because it is easier. I try to pay more when I can. My payments are really $378 for 60 months.

I put $2K down which covered what I still owed on my trade so I pretty much broke even there.

I told them that if they wanted me to walk out of the door that same day, that that was what it was going to take.

I talked them out of tax and the delivery / documentation fees.

Dealerships have ways of moving around money to make things happen. There is no doubt, you definately payed for tax or the IRS is gonna be knockin, but like i said the dealership moves around money. For instance they can say your trade is worth x amount of dollars more, " coincidentally" equaling the same amount as tax, or they can drop the price of the car a couple bucks, but only if they already marked it up, (because of that pure pricing stuff)

In my case, my credit was so bad that they wanted 4K down as trade in and 2K cash. I paid the 2K cash but my trade in was a 91 grand prix with a blown head gasket, radiator leaks, bare tires,120,000 miles, etc. I bought it for $800 and they still gave me 4K as a trade in but tacked the balance of what it was actually worth on to the sticker price. Just an example of how they do things

^Exactly...but the other guy said no money down, so i assumed no trade in.

My car was worth about $1000 private sale and they gave me $1800 (a check that is still on the way)

But they can't lower the price of the car because of pure pricing. I have a friend that works at scion and he said all he could do was to drop the dealer fee and give me $400 cash incentive on college grad.

$181/month for 48 months 5.25% thru AAA

but I am going to pay about $250/month and pay it off in 3 yrs

put 11k down, selling my 01 golf tdi privately for 10,400. if you can help it never ever trade in your car.

also, if you are financing for longer than 5 yrs you are probably buying more car than you can afford.

i used to be a finance manager for vw

Raping you too??How much? I paid 350/month, until this past june, when it went down to 240/month. And i don't even know why it went down, but im not complaining.

And atleast since yours is paid for, you don't technically "NEED" full coverage

first time around was 345/mo w/ 500 down w/ srs.
, went back a year later, got a new one. Now I'm 375/mo w/ 1400 down w/ ground effects lip kit.
I had a negative on my credit from tfs that claimed I was a slow pay/late payment one month, to which I'm arguing.
I took the car at the new, higher rates bc I had totalled the last one. Needless to say, the plan is I'll be refinancing next year after I resolve this discrepancy and clearing up a coupleof my past debts.
