Default How often do you scrape the bottom of your car?

I was thinking about lowering the car but I scraped the bottom of my car when going into a parking lot. There was a big hole on the floor that I didn't see.

in the tC, not often, b/c its lowered w/ TRD lowering springs which dont' slam it, but give it more of a subtle lower-

in the intega, its dropped 2in on tein coilovers, and has a full 4 pc lip kit, so that one i scrape more often cause of potholes/dips/big deep driveways.....etc... some of the time it can be avoided if you drive very carefully and master the art of doing the angle into driveways and over dips though

yeah, but sometimes those dips and potholes can sneak up on ya sigh, been thinking about those TRD springs/struts...can't decide if I should get 'em.

Oh, did you all know that if your tires get damaged/punctured c/o L.A. potholes you can file a claim from the city? Don't know if it applies to rims tho...

yeah sometimes they do just come out of nowhere and you cant slow down or the car behind will hit you... My integra has had its front lip repainted 4x because of stuff like that-- i should just make it a yearly thing now =/

Hmm I didn't know you could file a claim with the city for tire damage...how do you prove it though? like how do you prove that your tire got punctured /damaged within the c/o L.A. and not somewhere else?

every single day. My cars front bumper looks like a cheese grater. Dont even think about looking at the plastic bottom engine cover. Half of it is gone!! The track can be a very deadly place.

I used to have Del Sol that was slammed , only maybe 3-4" ground clearance and I only scraped getting out of the driveway, and Honda is is always nice to put a rubber/plastic piece to protect the bottom part of the car. I never scraped going forward.... there is a technique for lowered cars.

L.A. roads ____ me off. I am lowered on TRDs and I scrape almost on a daily basis. I do okay with driveways because I slow down to 2mph and use extreme care, but there are some roads where scraping is unavoidable. I hit a really nasty bumpy road last week where the bumper didn't get scraped, but something metal on the underside of the car impacted the ground with a big clunk. This was on a flowing 45mph piece of road, not a driveway or storm drain.
