Hyperwhite lights?
Anything with a coating on the bulb is crap. If it looks blue, it has a filter on it that will reduce light output.
Get a pair of GE Nighthawk bulbs. Only about $25 a pair at Wal-mart. They are a clear bulb that has a tweaked gas mixture in the bulb that allows the filament to operate at a higher color temperature than a regular halogen bulb if that's your thing. Most importantly, it does output more light than a standard bulb.
The whole whiter = better argument is just hype anyway. Halogen bulbs already have the best color rendering ability of any other bulb, including HID lamps. The only thing that matters is light output and longevity.

those hyperwhites are absoulutely horrible...they look white but they are dim.
white/blue/purple is horrible in rain and snow.
best vision quality -> yellow
i use sylvania cool blues, they arent white looking head on but at night the light is white but the color makes no difference it's all about the output in lumens. HID 4100 puts out 3200 lumens! Normal low beams 1000 lumens give or take 15% to be legal. Hyperwhites are generally not bright enough or safe enough to be DOT approved so I wouldn't even touch them unless they are just for show.
I use the 1700 lumen high beam bulbs in place of my 1000 lumen low beams. Huge difference, I got my cool blues cheap at walmart for like 18 bucks. They do require some modding of the bulb to fit...

Yah, if changing bulbs, i suggest Raybrig, then Polarg. I was going to get Piaa, but i read a lot of bad stuff about them. I heard nothing but good from Raybrig and Polarg
