The "I AM GETTING / HAVE A NEW tC!!" Thread
Hey guys - I've had my '06 BSP Tc for about 4 months now and love it. I'm just putting some Mods on it - The TRD springs, foglights, pedestal spoiler, Bazooka Sun, and I've tinted the windows already. I'll post some pics as soon as it dries up out there!!!

Hi everyone. I am anxiously awaiting my '06 Black Cherry Pearl tC. I didn't get much at the factory. I got the Self-dimming mirrors with homelink, foglights, pedestal spoiler, and Borla catback exhaust. Within a week or so, I plan on getting some Tien lowering springs, and some nearly legal tint (25-30%). I didn't get the subs from the dealer, because I wanted to see what else was out there first, so I will probably be doing that through some shops here in ATL. Over the next year, I intend to replace the stock head unit with the Eclipse AVN 5435, or the AVN 5495, and also to shift from springs to coilovers. Well, guess that's it. I look forward to watching this site for any 411 for my new toy coming in =)
I've had my BSP tC for about a week so far. Not too many pics yet, but here's one after I got the car detailed... Check out the cloud reflection in the hood...

This weekend, I'll be getting fog lights, ground effects, pedestal spoiler, and tint...

Well, I've been trolling this site for a few months now and I finally made the jump... bought my Flint Mica tC 5 days ago and oh man am I happy!!! This is one amazing piece of vehicle...
Put 150 miles on it the first day hahaha!
All I gotta say is no matter how good you think this car looks... wait till you feel how it drives.
Just waiting on my strut now and I'll have exhaust, strut, blue lighting, sport pedals, and security put into it this weekend... thinking about tint too...

What up everyone! My name is Melissa, I have an 05 silver tC! Just joined Scionlife, but i have had my car since June! Got a few mods to it, nothing to crazy! I am also part of Sevencityscions.org located in Virginia Beach, Va area! Just wanted to check out sl!
Hey whats up. I'm Nate and from Maryland. Right now I own a 2001 Mustang and hopefully by the end of March, I'll have a Scion tC. I'm hoping for the BSP, slate gray, or white as the color, manual of course.
I choose the tC out of a list of cars which included the Cobalt SS, ION Redline, SRT-4, IS300, A4, and the WRX. All of the other cars had problems that I did not like (im picky when it comes to cars)
So just saying hey, hopefully soon I'll be driving a tC.

Well, after months of research on more affordable vehicles, I have traded in my 2003 Lightning for a 2006 Flint Mica TC. I hated to give up my baby. The Lightning is a fantastic truck with endless power, but the catch is...she sucks down fuel likea 747 on a drinking binge! Tires were $300.00 a piece...yikes! The overall maintenance costs of this truck were too much to bare for a 31 year old guy, trying to pay his mortgage and fund the weekend fun with the girlfriend. So, I decided on a TC.
First impression: I like this car. The overall quality and performance of the TC is more than I expected. I like the dash layout, the materials used, the overall feel of the car, and most importantly...I finally have the sunroof I always wanted! Yay!
Performance: Given I drove a Lightning for two years, I wasn't expecting to be impressed with the power of a 4 cylinder car. She hesitates where my truck would have kicked in the afterburner, but I am pleasantly surprised with the torque and power this little rocket exhibits. Granted it's a 4 cylinder, but a swift, torqy little 4 banger nonetheless. I'd like to see a sport tronic transmission option in future incarnations, but for the money...she's a winner!
Feel: The car is a tad bumpy, but nothing far from the rough ride my truck was. It's taking some time to get used to a front wheel drive vehicle, but given I chose the automatic transmission ( 2.5 hours a day on congested highways=no manual for me!) I'm happy with the feel of the car. She zips and turns with ease. I find myself taking corners with some apprehension only to realize I can push her harder, without worrying about losing control. ( I'd like to add the strut tower brace for tighter control though)
Color: Flint Mica. Hmmm...where do I begin? I originally wanted a nautical blue, but couldn't find one on a dealer's lot. I know I could have ordered one, but to be honest, I needed to get out of this truck and fast! I just wanted to be done with it after doing research on cars, finding one I liked, I went with the flint mica and to be honest...the color is growing on me. I like the metallic flakes in the paint. It feels like a more expensive car than it really is. I was done with black after having a black mustang GT, and then the black Lightning. The blue is sweet, but I'm happy with my charcoal based seductress. ;)
Added Options: floor mats...
Yeah, I wanted a low payment so I didn't want to go too fancy with the additions. I do plan on adding the pedestal spoiler, fog lights, custom grill, and exhaust within the next two or three months. ( cash allowing). I like the look of the wing. Some people don't, but I do, so it's going on!
Gripe 1: There is no audible notification when the lights are left on and the the key is removed. It's a small issue, but I hate having to check the lights when exiting the vehicle to negate returning to a dead battery.
Gripe 2: The damn seatbelt ding! I thought my Ford was bad, but nope...this one is much more annoying. I never drive without a seatbelt, but for those times when I want to remove it to get into my pocket at the drive through, or sit in my car and jam some tunes I'd love to be able to deactivate it. Ford had a sequence of key turns and steps that turned off the audible notification. I assume this car has the same thing. I'll do some searching on these boards and post a topic if none exists.
That's it for now. No more complaints. I love this little car. It's growing on me very quickly. I've had her for 5 days and have only added 15% window tint all around, and my stereo system carried over from my truck, with the addition of the JL Audio XR series mids and highs to my Eclipse deck and EQ, 4 channel amp, and my 2 10" JL Audio dvc subs. Wow..talk about bass! These subs didn't come close to sounding this good in my single cab truck. Let's hear it for the hatchback physics, eh? LOL
This weekend my underbody and under dash multi-color LED lightning kits will be installed. ( also carried over from the truck) along with my Clifford Solaris alarm system with remote start and window control module. ( Can't wait!)
Well, it's been a hectic ride but I'm glad I chose this little car. It's everything I read about..."for the money". A term that seems to go hand in hand with every review I've read about this car. I personally think it's underrpriced for what you get. Although, a few options later and this car could easily have gone from $17,900 to 22,000. LOL
Although it will be fun to add a feature here, and there. I guess that's part of the fun.
Til next time...

whats up everyone? mark here from michigan...just droppin in....just got my new tC not even a week ago....likin it, lovin it....lookin forward modding it up like crazy....already found a lot of helpful hints on this site
Hello all,
I had a really bad experience with Lithia Toyota/Scion in Vacaville California. I know not everyone on the forums is in my area (duh) but I think my story illustrates a general principle. Read this before Scion shopping!
I knew going in that it could take some time to get my tc... and was surprised to hear they could get a white one, stick, from LA in a few days.
A few days later, no car. I get a call... one week, maybe sooner. Yes!
A week later... no car. Soon... by next week, for sure.
Once again, no car. Now, I know from the forums that many people have been waiting weeks to get a tc. If the dealership had admitted up front it would take that long, OK. I am a big boy. I don't need instant gratification, I just need to know when I can expect the car. Why string me along?
I call the sales guy... he says its being made in Japan right now! I asked when I could reasonably expect delivery. He said he would call me back in ten minutes, after speaking to his boss. Never called back!
Finally, in frustration, I called a different dealer. He called me back *in 15 minutes*, after locating the exact car I wanted. He sent a driver to *Reno* to get it (dealership is by Sacramento). I got the car the same day! With a four hour round trip to have a driver get the car... and it was snowing on the summit to Reno! And to top it off, they gave me $200 more for my trade in than the other place had offered, and arranged financing 1.5% cheaper than the other place as well!
For anyone in the central valley of California, Hanlees Chevy/Toyota/Scion in Davis is *the* place to get your tc.
More importantly, not all dealers are alike. These two dealers I dealt with are five minutes apart by freeway... I am glossing over many other subtle differences in the interest of brevity, but trust me, you need to shop around. Not so much for price... but for value. I'll tell you the honest truth, I can't wait to buy something else from these guys (and I think it's going to be a supercharger!).
