was i dreaming???
thanks, I've been looking at a tc since they came out, i want an auto trans with a supercharger which is not out just yet. i'm also looking a the new civic coupe, less hp but better gas mileage, also more expensive. not sure which way to go, but keep coming back to the tc, 1) the price 2) hp +sc will be about 200 horsepower
i've test droved the new civic.. you'll notice a decent amount of power difference between a tc and a civic.. especially when you have 3/4 ppl in the car. imo, its not worth it to save that extra 10mpg. but thats just me and depending on your scenario.
I am waiting for the sc to be available with the auto trans and will have the dealer install it for warranty issues. My plans include lowering springs, sway bars, better handling struts, camber adjustment kit and strut bar under the hood. i plan on doing that work myself as well as installing a leather interior. i have done this type of work before.
I looked on the honda civic web site and noticed that their peak horsepower numbers and for that matter the torque #'s are somewhat near their rpm redline, whether you are looking at their 1.8 140 hp or the 2.0 197 hp motor. and the 2.0 comes only with a 6 sp manual. I don't mind shifting it's just that my daily driver is an 89 4wd Toy pickup with 22re and a 5 sp manual already. i'd just like a break from shifting.
gas mileage is better on the 1.8 civic, the 2.0 civic
is about the same as a tc and if i get a sc on the tc, prem fuel will be required, same as on the 2.0 honda engine. both cars in the 23/30 mpg range.
I drove an 05 auto tc last spring and liked the car, it had good pick up when i mashed the pedal to the floor. it moved pretty good, not like my 79 vette with about 350 hp, but we're talking 4 cyl vs a v8. anybody want to buy a 79 vette???

thanks for the info, i haven't look at the mcgeorge site for a few weeks. if i could sell my vette i would order a tc, i don't want to sell my vette, but i don't have room for both and i would like a tc.
