I only know this cuz the hatch rattle and roof rattle usually alternate , DONT ASK I DONT KNOW ITS PROBABLY A DEMON LOL . Also is anyone getting wierd metallic rattling noises coming from their doors then they close them . My passenger side one sounds like it has a coat hanger on the inside rattlign around everytime I shut the door

I wonder if it's that foam tape fix I've been talking about on the bumper stops..

either way for you

Glad to hear. Be nice to see the pics. There have been so many "fixes" out there for the hatch rattle and none so far have worked for me. Luckily I do not have a bad rattle, just enough to be slightly irritating.

I have tried:

1. felt strips on side bumper stops
2. bigger rubber stops on the end hatch
3. felt strip on bottom where the back rubber stopper hit the frame
4. hard closing hatch
5. soft closing hatch
6. struts are on back order re:TSB
7. laying towel on back ledge to "fit" would be tighter

Glad all of above have been cheap so far.

And I think I found my hatch rattle (already have one ) My right taillight seems to be just a little loose- if I push down on the molding portion that the hatch covers, it makes a loud plastic on plastic click sound.

It sounds like my rear moonroof is starting to make an occasional odd sound as well, and I've heard a squeak from the radio cover a few times too. Oh well. I'm going to try foam tape in a few spots (and maybe tighten the taillight?)

yeah the radio cover noise on mine was coming from the console area, put foam tape where the clips meet the dash holes (around those clip holes).. that stopped mine as well as making sure the radio door mechanism was screwed in tight to the console frame..

It was posted in another hatch rattle thread. I think the dealer, LONGO, actually installed them and the tC owner gave us the Part #. Was only about $3 (but it did not help/hurt the hatch rattle).

I found my hatch rattle...it had nothing to do with the cylinders and what not. it was simply just a bunch of broken off pieces of pot metal that got lose and caught between the hatch panel and the metal hatch itself. I doubt thats the case in all of them but I'm sure at least SOME of the cases may be caused by this.
