I'll take some pics tomorrow. It poured like crazy today for a few hours...go figure! My first brand new car, it's black, and it decides to rain shortly after it was detailed! ugh! But I'll get some pics up late tomorrow/early Friday morning. We have the '08 xB launch with a party afterwards tomorrow so I'll get 'em up when I get home. The reverse bulb is in the upper part of the light, above the three round lamps

 

for some reason i was expecting a more fire-y red.. this one seems kinda bland.. im sure it looks better in person tho..

 

I love the tailights also, better than the red old ones. I still like the TYC better, but these IMO are better than the old stock ones.

 

it looks like someone picked those tails and headlights off of ebay. Seriously i dont think it will flow well with the darker colors with those headlights. Its just too dark up front for me?

The color just looks like a darker BCP. The grille and tails are hideous. The headlights would be ok without the orange and the bulge over the projector.

Saw some 08's in real life. Have to say I'm not impressed with what Scion changed. Ohwell, glad I have my 07.

 

1) The TYCs look different for '08.

2) The grille is a mess.

I just don't see it as a big problem, since so many people end up swapping their grille, tails and lights for ebay stuff anyway...

As for the new colors, it's like the difference between SSM and CSM or IIP and NB. Gotta see it in person to really see what's changed.

Not feeling the color (then again I wasn't a BCP fan anyways)... and the lights are killing it for me. Blah.

 

those tails and grill are hideous! YUK! as for the headlights they may grow on me over time but i doubt it. im glad i have an 06 as i think toyota butchered this one.

 

Being a 06 BCP owner - I actually like the color.

The grill and tail lights aren't great but the headlights aren't too bad. As long as you like it that's all that matters.

Throw some tinted tails on it with black or bronze wheels and you'll be set!

I saw both in person that night and while similar, this one was red/maroon, while that one was purple.





This thread is kind of funny though. I make it showing the new color as quite a few seemed to want to see it, and then people offload the remaining hate of the headlights, tails, and grill from the other 10 page 08 discussion.


FYI. All 3 of the things 90% of the people in this thread hate can be easily swapped out ;)

maybe its just me but i dont think that the headlights and tail lights flow with the car very well. whenever i look at it there seems to be a voice in my head saying "those look very out of place"

thats the only thing that stands out...

 

you are one of the very few people that own a 08 right now, so people will flock to the thread to check out the pics regardless of what the original intent was

anyhow.. I cant help myself but express my disappointment with the new tail and headlights.
the headlights look just like the ebay ones and the rear tail lights remind me of a bouncing ball animation.

maybe scion figured that so many people were swapping out their lights for ebay ones, that they'd beat everyone to the punch and take a piece of the the pie by offering them as stock for 08 models.

something good may result from this, aftermarket ebay vendors may be forced to finally release a different design :D

the grills look like an absolute mess , imo the 08 models make the car look cheezy with the changes. it looks more like a toy or some over active owner went on an ebay spree.
sorry, please dont be offended, of course this is just my single opinion, others may love the new look.

in regards to the color, it looks brownish purple to me :/, very similar to bcp, and I know for certain its not my monitor, this is off my mac pro, that I use for digital imaging. I took a sample of the pic and level adjust and fixed the clipping in the colors on cs3, and it just comes out more purple. the photo itself is color inaccurate. this reading is from cs3 levels itself direct from the digital file, not a subjective opinion from viewing a monitor.(this pretty much reaffirms what everyone has been seeing i.e. purple, not red brick in the pictures not due to the monitor, its the picture)

if its supposed to look more red, possibly adjusting some settings on the camera may help? like disabling auto-white balance, can you post more pics of the interior and close of shots of the paint, grills headlights and tail lights?
