Also living in Maine, I think I know where his problem is coming from.

Namely, they just passed a law in Maine saying you can't lower a car that has ABS. The reasoning behind this is that lowering a car's ride height will throw off its center of gravity, and ABS systems are tuned for a certain center of gravity.

Stupid politicians.

But yeah, I plan to get around this by getting TRD springs... Toyota made my car, Toyota made mr springs. After market? Naww... ;)

 

The ABS grinding and pedal vibration are not nearly as bad as in most cars. Compared to the violent shaking of most ABS pedals, its realatively quiet.

There's probably a computer module or some sensors you could disable. The mechanical brake systems should continue to function, same as if you were driving along and a sensor or the computer went bad.

Probably would screw up the low tire pressure indicator too.

 

It is funny that most of the SOB's that have a problem with this thread live in AZ or FL or somewhere else sunny the majority of the time. It's not all FLAT land around here...... Regardless of what some of you "idiots" say, I think ABS is NOT great. I would prefer to be in control of my car instead of some damn computer without EYES telling me what I should do..... I love my car, i really do......just hate the brakes. It was a damn question I asked and some of you ignorant bastards obviously don't understand what "winter" is.
