The power input is the same as a phone jack. However, their store sells black phone wire which looks nice, as well as the Direct Wire Power Adapter #20305 in order to hardwire it.
Or you can opt to get the cigarette lighter adapter, but then you'll have a cord hangin in the way all the time.

Yes, but I don't know how you'd splice into the wire on the other end to hardwire it. That's what the Direct Wire Power Adapter is for.

You must've gotten yours used. I'm surprised the seller didn't give you that stuff.
Just spend the $19 for item#00030 and you'll be good to go.

Yes. Escort/Passport and Beltronics also use the same setup. A phone cable works fine. How do you splice it? Cut it! There are seperated and insulated wires inside the main insulation.

Add a fuse and save a ton of money. I did it and it works great.

Just cut the wire. . . you will see what I mean. . . the wires are all seperated and color coded when you cut it.
