Default I have the worse luck with mods, screwed up applique install

I searched and did the steps.

1. Clean are very well.(cleaned with dish soap and windex). Then dryed.
2. SPrayed windex(for lube) on rear bumper.
3. Applied applique, used hair dryer/card to make sure everything was nice and smooth.
4. Let sit in sun.

Well, a few hours later, I peeled the paper from the top of the applique. There was a lot of dried residue/water bubbles underneath. Looks like crap! Wasted $20.

Going to remove tomorrow.(My hair dryer broke).

I have the worse luck lol.

It could be from the windex. Windex has ammonia in it, which loosens adhesive. Maybe it did that, and it moved around during the positioning process. Just use water in a spray bottle if you do it again.

or use a light soap such as johnson's baby magic, as is used for 3M kits. it allows you to have lubrication, without messing up the adhessive. and also rubbing alcohol helps the appliqué stick better. just dilute to about 50 percent.

That thing is hard to install, mine had similar results with bubbles but went away after a day or two of the sun hitting it like stated above.

When I first picked up my tC from the dealership I didn't like the way the bumper app. looked at all. There were bubbles all over it and they swore they would go down within a few days, luckily they did. There isn't a single bubble now and it looks good.

I would say depending on how it holds to the bumper, glue etc., it may be ruined. You could try again if it still has any 'stickiness' left on it. You don't want it flying off when you drive the car though. lol I honestly don't care for the app. that much. I have a super white and dirt lays around the border of it when he car is dirty and you can see the outline pretty bad. It may not show dirt as bad on silver though.
