I bought a 2007 scion tc not so long ago...i have a problem with the sunroof as many peole do...i have read mmany posts and don't think any of them relate to my problem.
everytime i open of close my sunroof i hear a loud click like if something on the rail is snapping against metal...i need some suggestions on what to do..and what could be the problem.

yeah, most of the time it does it when im closing it, but sometimes it closes without making noise (when im going over 55 mph) and then a short while later it clicks like if it was held by something and then snapping againt the metal

the motor actually controls the wire that pulls/opens the entire assembly. There are situations where the motor can cause slack in the cable, and that's the snapping you hear. If you lubricate all the moving parts with silicone spray and it still makes noises, then that's all that's left.
Pinpoint where the noise comes from, most likely it's towards the front of the sunroof. And that's where the drive motor is. Sorry if that's the truth, but you are under warranty.
One other fix is to try this simple fix. Take the negative cable off the battery, wait 5 minutes, reconnect. Then re-initialize the sunroof (it's in your owners manual). That might take up the slack in the cable without having to bother the dealership. Try it.
