Default I need Help (Axle boot is leaking )

I went in to the Dealer for my regular Oil Change , they told me my axle boot was leaking!! I have a 2005 scion tc , lowered on Goldline springs 2", and I have 19" staggered wheels (Front 8.5 & Back 9.5) , I asked the guy how much it would be to repalce or fix it and he went into ( Like $2000) I almost crapped my pants ! I dont know what to do , I want to take it to another mechanic to see how much he would charge me . ANY HELP , would be greatly apperciated !!

bring it to the dealer, it should be covered under warranty.

im also going to assume he was talking about your CV boot.
If you fix this EXTREMELY soon, and not let all the oil leak out, you might be able to save the CV joint. I would not drive the car another day without getting this fixed.

Wow.. he was really trying to bend you over on that price!

That should be 100% covered under warranty unless they can prove something you did caused it.

wouldn't they just say that lowering the car caused the cv boot failure, and not honor your warranty?

They could try, but that would be ridiculous and anyone that knows better could challenge them. That extra little bit of drop over the TRD drop should not cause the boot to fail, and is definitely not enough to put stress on the joints themselves.

That's what I was thinking. I wish you good luck and don't just accept no for an answer, but have something ready for when they do. I bet that they will say that the drop is the cause.
