If it was the Camry Coupe would you buy it ?
Would have bout your tC if when it came out, it would have been sold at the Camry Coupe ?
I was stopped behind a Solara the other day and it just got me think. I don't think I would have bought tC if it was packaged as the Camry Coupe ..

I liked it...I bought it....THEN discovered it was a great inital value, held it's resale value well, was dependable, cheap to modify, higher than average safety ratings,etc...etc....
I would have bought my tC if it had ANY name on it.
In other words.....I lucked-out!

for the people that ask why the stupid question , i guess you did not understand my first post.
I don't think I would have bought the tC if it was packaged as Camry . So since I had that thought, I wonder if anyone else did..
But I guess it was either a really stupid question or to hard for some people to under stand.

Eh, they still sell a 2 door Camry.... http://www.toyota.com/camrysolara/index.html
The tC is probably closer to 2 door Camry than new Celica.

The Camry coupe needs a serious refresh on the front and rear facias!
THEN, if it looked similar to the 4 door, I would consider it. But you can't beat the Tc price!!!
ps: Perhaps, some of us misinterpreted your post because it was so poorly written

I would actually prefer it if they called the tc a camry coupe because when people think of the camry, they tend to think of family car. Therefore it would probably be cheaper for insurance, less likely to get broken into, and etc.
i probably wouldn't have bought it because i dont wanna own a camry. i want a car thats somewhat sporty. not somewhat 60-year-old-grandma-who-doesnt-believe-in-boosting-the-american-economy
I was actually going to buy a v6 camry but went with a tc instead.
tc seemed more fun to drive and had much easier parameters to work with.
when I sat in the camry it felt like an old people car. I didnt even test drive it, the moment I sat in it and couldnt estimate the cars parameters I knew it wasnt for me.
when I sat in a tc, it felt much better, I felt more comfortable sitting in it.
if it was badged a camry with the same interior and exterior I would still buy it.
maybe shouldve been a camry coupe so there'd be a possibility of a v6 version hah.

Seeing as how i bought my tc after owning a camry, probably.
I bought my car because i saw one, was a little interested, and the sales guy pulled up in a fully loaded one. I wouldn't have bought one without the lip kit.

^ me too. ...actually I've owned several.
The tC is more likely to be packaged as a Celica (which has also shared an engine with the Camry) than the Camry coupe. All the original gen3 Camry Coupes and gen1 and 2 Solaras have more in common than just the engine. They're built on the same platform and share the same underpinnings, suspension and electrical components as well as a tranny.
