Ignition acting up
OK...sometimes when I turn off my car my hazard lights blink twice. Is this a normal thing. It is not really a big deal or anything, its just kind of strange. Has anyone else experienced this and do you think it is worth taking it to the dealership for? I think I might look dumb if i take it in and I can't get the car to do it for them because it is totally random.
OK I thought mine was the only one that did that LOL . Yeah occassionally mine will do the same thing , I take the keys out of the ignition and the four ways flash . But then we might be pushing the unlock button on the key when we do this .I just realized that sitting here lookin at my key LOL .

When the key is whithin distance to be a valid key it will turn off the remote key functionality. In other words, when your little car with a key in it on the center console it means there is no valid key in the ignition. When it stops that means the ignition housing has read the key and that the key is programmed to the car. When that happens, if the car receaves a message from the key it ignores the request.
If you are hitting unlock when you take the key out, this is possible if it picks up a message under a certain amount of time. Say, 5 seconds or so. When your key is hit for over 5 seconds the car assumes the key is stuck in unlock and will also ignore the message.
This also happens if you unlock the car over and over again. I love the blinking lights so I bet I unlock the car 4 or 5 times before I get in.
That and it usually re-locks by the time I get to my car anyway.
If you didn't know, your car will auto lock itself if you unlock it remoteley and don't open a door withing some time.
