Try sending a e-mail to Injen asking about it, I bet that would be your best way to get a date.

I was told its in production but no set release date...

Injen may cost more then AEM but to me I like having a better looking and made intake and plus diameter of a injen compared to a AEM Injen is bigger

and it'll probably suck in hot air from the engine bay instead of cold air from outside.

Uhh, you fall for marketing hype often? their PR people must love you. i see many of their 'CAI' with a filter in the engine bay around the radiator, not like other CAIs where the filter sits in fender behind the front bumper.

yes the "short ram" or warm air intake just replaces your stock air box and rubber tubing.....some retailers sell it as a CAI -but i dont believe injen would call it CAI...my CAI i bought form racingzone was actually just the shortram. racingzone told me it was CAI i asked injenthis and they told me straight up it wasnt and they dont make a CAI for my car....

i too go for injen over AEM

the Injen's intake is a real CAI..it is a two piece piping that holds the filter behind the lower front bumper area.

Injen makes great stuff. AEM stuff are great too..but it's abit conservative on performance IMO...especially since it is being offered as Dealer Option for Scions.

If you want most output from intake...go with K&N. I think they are most price-efficient performance intakes...especially for Scions.

Mam o mam I just got the email back form the injen rep and they said this about its release.

"That is the million dollar question. We were going to release the intake and
then CARB stopped us.
Not just us, but most manufacturers. The tC has a built in Carbon Filter
which is emission equipment.
We can't touch that intake at this time... well legally atleast. We are
trying to find a way to do it, but
trust me, it sounds easier than it actually is."

Sucks doesn’t it

One I sell Injen parts I am a retailer... 2 I owned Injen products in the past like there CAI for the xB and yes it was outside the engine bay....

Anyways glad to see you think you know what a CAI is... please dont bad mouth Injen our there products when you yourself seem to be the one that is not understanding what a CAI looks like and what a shirt ram looks like....

i don't think he knows what a CAI is if he thinks it sits in the engine bay.

Thanks for letting us know what they had to say. I just wonder once they get these intakes to past CARB if any power gains will be had. Sounds like a Carbon filter may need to be added. Sucks, but if you want a CAI just go with the K&N, I don't think any of these other CAI are going to perform much differently.
