Injen exhaust question
Just bought a injen ses exhaust and my luck right after buying it i read exhaust horror stories about how some aftermarket exhausts burn the bumpers, my question is, since i am not lowered am I fine with this exhaust?
hmm actually now i think about it the space inbetween the exhaust cut out hole and the tip have nothing to do with each other...im talking about how close the tip of the injen is to the actual bumper cut out
It's about half an inch at the most away from the bumper cutout for me. Like I said before just get some sort of heat resistant spacer to tape/glue/what have you into the bumper cutout on top so your exhaust can be further away.
Or just get a longer hanger so it hangs down a little lower. Or you may be able to bend the metal hanger mount.

on my xb i have a strup exhaust.. it comes out at an angle so its a little closer to the right side of the cut out, and i can just barely stick my finger in between it on the side and top aswell but there is no problem at all with burning anything. just make sure it is past the bumper and not at all not even a few cm behind it.

im sure it will be good if you take it to a shop for the install.. i took the tc when i had one to get a custom muffler put on and they did a real good job and spent a while on making sure it was perfectly aligned and not gonna cause any problems.. i would say you dont have to worry.
i mean make sure the bumper isnt gonna be sticking out farther than the tip.. that is usually how things get burned i would think. but like i just said in the last post a shop will do it right, as long as they are reputable and not just some random shop u know.

It's made to fit nice into the bumper which normally wouldn't be a problem but it's inset a little bit, maybe even a little more than stock to keep a low profile (the HKS is angled and also pokes out from the bumper slightly, or is about even with the bumper, whereas the injen is set in)
I got some heat resistant fabric spacers taped into the cutout, and also a CF shield. Problem solved.
Also my car may be throwing more heat out because i'm only running a resonator.
^ is there a website where i can order a shield just to be safe?
any special kind of tape? this really sucks i wish i woulda found this out sooner, all the reviews were good the 2 weeks i searched until after i buy it.

i had my injen on my tc for near 30k and had no issues wiht burning my bumper.. i wouldnt recommend hanging the exhaust lower then it is right now... anyone thats seen an injen exhaust installed would know thats a bad idea.. that thing hangs LOW as is.. dont worry ull be fine..
Smilezdc is right, I forgot how low the exhaust is where it goes under the rear part of the frame.
Some people have problems some don't, like I said I might because of not having as much restriction as a stock exhaust but I'm not sure. Try it out first and keep an eye on it, if you start to see a problem buy the shield. There was one in the classifieds here but I don't know if it's still for sale.

hmm alright, I got alot of good ideas from this thread which route would you go as I rather try to prevent it before it even starts to happen. I was thinking of buying some type of rubber block spacers similar to what this man did with bottle caps but not sure where to buy somethin like that.

A heat shield like suggested (also cant find one lol)
Or lastly maybe asking a shop to mod the hanger so the exhaust tip will stick out to clear the entire cutout hole. not sure how that would look though.
