well, when i was in germany, the cars displayed the european equivalent of mpgs, which is liters/100km. if you coast in neutral, it read .4 or so, if you engine brake or coasted IN gear, it read ZERO, meaning you're using no fuel. but thats a system just like the scan gauge, and the SG told us the opposite. so, just go on and do whatever you're used to doing, cuz as we have seen, IT DOESNT MATTER! hah =P

..haha...agreed

To the poster of EPA estimates: Yeah, Squall is right. No point in looking at those numbers as exact measurement but simply on average in the best conditions. Some tCs haven't seen over 20 mpg and some have seen close to 35 mpg. It all depends on weather conditions, driving habits, environmental factors (weather being grouped in this)......too many things to list that would help/hurt your mpg. But....it's a great selling point for dealers to put these "estimates" on the windows for those people who really think that's the mileage they'll get all the time.

In moving from Gilmer, Texas to Atascadero, Ca (something around 1700 miles I think) I got an average of 33 mpg with a lot of clothes, my golf clubs, my cat and some other random stuff in the back. Best part, I set the cruise on 85 for about 80% of the I40 drive. The worse thing about the whole drive is these seats aren't so hot for my broken back.

Stop filling up with Arco. Trust me you'll see an immediate 5 mpg difference.

Shell for me. Chevron in my area's way jacked up in price... even though the refinery is across the street from work. Seriously its a 30 cent per gallon difference to any other brands, its retarded.

Basically anything except discount gas is good. I filled up with Arco for the first few tanks I had my car, and got 20-21 mpg with about half freeway half city. Then one time I had to fill up with Shell because I was practically riding on fumes and the station was across the street... so I figured what the hell I'll pay the extra buck. That next tank, I got 25 mpg with entirely city driving. I'm never going near Arco again.
