JDM to me is having a japanese counterpart. yeah there's japanese aftermarket parts, but japanese domestic market as in being sold in japan in that case ARK intake wouldn't be considered "jdm" for the tc because the tc isn't sold in japan.

and the tc is made in japan but I think you may have worded that wrong.

if that was the case isn't HKS/Greddy made in japan too? don't they offer parts for usdm cars like the ford focus? would that make the focus jdm too dodaddy?

people interpret jdm in so many ways. noones opinion is wrong though bc it their opinion

The way I interpret JDM is if the part is made in japan. I'm not saying the car is JDM I'm saying the part on the car is, so in this case a ford focus is not JDM but the part on the car is JDM if it was like a Greddy/Trust part. As far as ARK Intake, I don't even now where ARK is manufactured at, but I know ARC is manufactured in Japan. If you don't know the difference between the two companies, then you shouldn't be talking about JDM parts at all. lol

So I think the confusion here is..

JDM Parts CAN be on a Non-JDM Vehicle e.g. Ford, Chevy

Example...
Yo my tC (USDM vehicle) has a sick JDM part on it, the ARC Airbox (JDM Part)

The way you're explaining it is that the aftermarket part isnt jdm if its on a domestic vehicle. How is it not JDM if the after market part is made in japan?!!?!

Not to shy away from what the thread is really about, but yes it is possible to have "JDM parts" on the tC by having true parts manufactured from Japan. Just know that the tC isn't JDM lol

The xB can actually be called JDM cuz it is sold in Japan as the Rumion. And there is a market for JDM conversion.

I guess now we can accept the fact that the tC is not JDM. Something the entire JDM community already knew.

There's nothing to settle... didn't you see the table?!

And besides... Honda people could not speak for the JDM-ness (or lack of) of the tC. It's not a Honda.

If I had a Focus I'd make it EDM if anything. They've got an RS edition w/ a 2.5L turbo I-5, making 295 HP, 302 ft-lbs tq.

And isn't it not JDM unless it's right-hand drive? Never saw the appeal of modding something to make it look like the stock version from another country.
