Whats up fellow scionlifers! Seems like everyone’s doing it, so I figured, might as well make my own picture thread. First off, a little background story that im sure all you guys care about. My first car was a 1989 jeep Cherokee. The dad bought it for $200 but that thing was still going hard coming up on 200k miles. Here it is



I loved that piece of junk but that 4.0 litre engine was sucking up gas like there was no tomorrow. Then college started. I got into cal state l.a. (a 25 mile comute one way) so I wasn’t too excited about driving up there 4 days a week back and forth. Then the clouds opened up and the great united states of American elected Obama as president. Actually, I could care less about politics, but he came up with the cash for clunkers program. I hopped on that thing on the quicknes. At first, I didn’t know what to get, until I went to a Toyota dealership and I saw a tC. Sat in it and just knew, that was what I wanted. I found this lovely piece of machine on their front door away from all the other cars. had only 8 miles in it.



So, the dealership bought my jeep for 4K and I added the 2k I’v saved up to put down on the new car. This was my first car that was stick so I had my bro drive it for me. We went to eat first, and here’s the first pic I have of my car when it was officially mine.



I got home from the dealership like at 1ish and I had work at 5. As you can see from the picture of my jeep, I worked at charo chicken as a delivery driver. And we had to use our own cars. So I had those few hours to practice driving stick before I go out and do deliveries. Hahaha.
I was driving around practicing when my friend drove right past me. Took this shot as he rolled by

I got the 7 year warrantee for the car so I was paranoid about them voiding it if I did any mods, so I didn’t do much the first 10 months. I did a couple shoots with it being completely bone stock. These shot were taken in san pedro





Then I had an idea of painting my stockied bronze. So I did some photoshop before I did anything stupid.


I kinda lowered it in the picture too just to see how it would look. hehe




But then eventually, I stopped caring. As we all did, im sure. So, first thing I did was buy my bro’s friend’s s-techs. He sold em to me for only $50 so that was kind of a steal. Heres a pic of it just in case you guys forgot what they looked like next to the stock ones ontop of a dirty ___ ripped towel.




Before I installed these, I got some spc rear camber arms from TwztedtC. Again, im sure you guys care

Then I found an HKS exhaust for sale by DjEzE. I offered him $100 and he said sure thing. Only, I had to drive 2 hours to san diego to pick it up.



Installed it that night




Then 1 year after I bought my car, here was how she sat at the time

(that’s the homie xb_eing, decided to mention him since I’ll be talking about him later on)



I had purchased a 35W 6000K HID kit from DDM tuning, and I happened to receive it in the mail that exact same day, so, that’s what my car got for it’s b-day. J

And here’s me driving like a badass


I was looking at my car I realized, I had no interest in the front emblem being so noticeable right there in the front of the grille. And I was pretty broke(like every other college student out there). So, I decided to make my own top grille. It was a pretty big fail at first when I posted up pics. Got a few flaming comments, so I improvised and cleaned it up a bit. Here’s how it was after I was done with it





So now, I wanted, wait no, needed to look even cooler. So I was in the market for some rims. I scoped the field around for some bronze ones cuz I knew I wanted that “STI” look. Then I came up on BlkTC’s part out. I met with him and he sold me his konigs..



They came with bald as ____ tires, so I had to get some. Mmmmm, brand spankin’ new tires, baby!



Don’t mind the hair. I had a long hair phase for quite some time.

Slapped those badboys on the whip later that day




Then I got a TRD front strut bar from night87 for 100.



So then, I was pretty bored of the rims. I was gonna paint them, but my friend Andrew(xb_eing) had told me that he was gonna buy some rims from luuserface. I was like, sure, go ahead. Then he came to my house and showed me. I nearly ____ed my pants cuz I saw this.


I was like, are you kidding me?!?! I wanted bronze wheels ever since I got the car, and he just came up on them that easily. But the thing is, he didn’t really like em that much just like I didn’t like mine either. Eventually, he got tired of them and sold them to me, while I sold my konigs to my friend’s jetta.

I took a couple shots of the konigs before I took swapped them out





So I threw those sexy things on my car




At that time, I had also purchased some VRD fog lights from Vask on ystc for only $70. Was cheap cuz it didn’t come with the wiring at all, so he helped me make the wiring myself. You can see in the above picture the crappy wiring job I did.


Then I got to do a proper photoshoot with my bro’s canon t1i. these were taken in old torrance









As you can see, I have the AVS window visors I bought from t0mmysays. I removed them after a week cuz I decided the weathertechs are a much cleaner look.

I decided I needed MOAR low. So then I bought some tein basics from swsnowman. Which was a complete fail cuz he totally ripped me off. Sold me his seized coilovers for $400. Still tryna either get rid of them, or fix them to this very day.



Ima just end up buying some racelands of rokkor tuning coilovers since I don’t really care about the “bounciness” and since I don’t plan on tracking my car anytime soon, it wouldn’t be a problem.

Then I got tired of the home made grille I made, so I bought some ebay ones. I don’t have pics of those but you’ll see em eventually

A friend of mine had a 240sx, but sold it to get an rx7. So he had a 240 lip just laying around. So he gave them to me to put on my car. I just used 6 zipties to force-fit it on like a boss.





I failed cuz when I removed the bumper, I dropped the left side foglight, so I broke the bulb.

That’s why its off in the above photo. But my gangster ___ school in the background makes up for it. CSULA!!!

I wanted to get a trd short shifter, but I couldn’t find one that was a decent price, cuz I done wanna pay retail. I’d much rather buy it used. So, whats the next best thing? Shift boot. I made my own shift boot that I cut, sew, and custom fit into the thingy. I made the fuzzy one at first.




I posted a thread about it and some ppl wanted me to make a DIY. So I made a whole new one and took some pics, but for some reason, I cant post in the DIY section.so, heres a pic of the new product.


I used white leather that second time, but ima remove it and make a new one. Im thinking maybe denim, but im not sure. Maybe ill wait till I get a short shifter so I can get the sizing right.

I met sebbyxtc when I helped him install his F+F coilovers. I slammed it for him and his dumbass forgot how low he was and drove out of his driveway wrong and broke his rs1 lip. Hahaha. Frikken Sebastian. So he sold it to me for 50…or was it 60…idk, but I just ziptied it, and it’s good as new…well, sort of.

I don’t have a pic of that yet, but ill take one when I can.

Then I realized, those god aweful ’10 tail lights are ugly as ____. I wanted to get anzos, but again, im a broke starving college student, so I just settled for the ’05 tails. Bought them from superfastdsm on ystc for only $35



After listening to so much lil wayne, I wanted more bass than the puny 6 inch sub the tC comes in. HAHAHHA. Frikken weezy. Anways, I bought two 10 inch subs from tito07tC for only $60. But then, I realized, my sister has two 12’s in her bmw that she never even uses. So two days after I met up with tito, I got my sisters subs. So I might just sell those 10’s that I got from tito in the near future. Watch out for the for sale ad ill be posting soon.



I don’t have them installed yet, but once they are, windows will be crackin, ear drums be poppin.

my brother had moved to a diff house, and like most filipinos, of course they have to get the house blessed. and then my mom said, mind as well have the pimp ___ priest bless my car as well.



i guess he forgot to bless my wheels cuz i got 2 flat tires later that week. -___-

I don’t have any recent pics of my car now, but ima do another proper photoshoot sometime soon. Soo, keep an eye out.

Haha I like how the priest bless your car and ended up with flat tires a few weeks later. But anyways nice build so far. I'm going through the same thing, a "broke, starve college student" who wants more parts but I've managed to piece together a turbo kit. So thats gonna go on in the summer. But love the way your tC looks with those bronze wheels.

 

Looks good..well everything except the story bought Obama..hopefully the clouds will realign and boot him..but cars lookin good what's ur next wheel choice?

 

krazylitc thanks man. yeah, it was pretty rediculous with my wheels popping right after. they were both my right side wheels. first the front, then the back.

MooSE55 about obama, hahha. yeah, i dont really mind the whole politics bit. but i guess i had to thank him someway for the cash for clunkers program. im planning on going lower since the s-techs arent cutting it. and the basics, i already know i wanna go lower than how much they offer, even if i even got them fixed, i wanna sell them already. since i dont have the budget for brand name coilovers, ill prolly just stick to raceland or rokkor. then some type of intake, leaning towards ram air cuz it's been raining pretty hard these past few days here in cali to be rockin' a CAI. and if im lucky, maybe some headers. and ive been tryina sell my tenzo's cuz i kinda wanna go wider with a tad bit more offset. once i sell those, i wanna buy 09socaltC's rota's....if he still has them. haha

 

I hear ya with the funds that's why I always go cheap and ao far no complaints..but I've been riding racelands for a year now and had zero issues..and I live in Seattle and run a CAI no problems and we all now it rains a hell of alot up here..I just sold my dc header so I can buy wheels I also want that cr-Kai look so I went drag dr 31s 17x9et17,28 and they were like 500$ shipped it's the wheels nb08tc runs I think that's his name but it's te darker blue tc in the aggressive fitment thread..just waitin for spend to throw them on..But ya look into raceland if ur tryin to save a penny..

 

Everyone was _____ing when i bought my rokkor tuning coilovers. [Because they are cheap blah blah] After they saw how sexy the tC looks dumped, they stopped complaining. + The ride is honestly not that bad. Btw, ur rims are A-mazing

I was gonna get 35% all around. But I kinda like the cleaner look. I even took out my headrests. U can see some in the pictures. I like how I can see straight through the car and not see any headrests. And yeah, I've heard it all. "whiplash....blah blah blah" I don't really care about that. Haha. Oh the sacrifices we make to have a sexy car these days.

just read where the grill is haha..but do you have the 08 grill.>? if so put the grill on first than put the lip on top of the bottom part of the grill thats what i did and fit perfectly..our front ends look identical...

 

cheap ebay grill. it keeps falling off and rattling while i drive. so i removed it. its sitting in my trunk as we speak.

btw, did they lock the coilover thread? i cant comment anymore. haha

just how i was commenting on that thread but wouldnt answer if i had racelands..which if he actually read the thread he would of noticed how i said ive been running them for a year with zero issues and 25k miles on them..but hes a tool..but ya dude you should try and pick up an 08 grill looks good with the RS 1 lip..found one on here for 15bucks before..
