I was just gonna sand and polish them in the near future.
I haven't tried to yet but why not try whenever I get my other wheels back from the machine shop? Probably reverse mount if possible lol. There's a few DIYs on YouTube, just got done looking at the Drift Tengoku one, dude started on the tire swap in daylight, by the end of the video it was dark lmao.

I just watched that same video..that isn't much different than how someone with the proper equipment would do it..except they generally they use (or at least I did) a soap water solution. Idk that doesn't seem any less likely to eff up the wheels.
ive never mounted lo pro tires, but Ive mounted a few standard sized 15s and 14s before. Its a bish. You let the air out, and lay the rim/tire on the ground next to the rim/tire on your car and drive over it very slowly, as close rim/rim as you can get to break it loose. then you go to town with tire irons and rubber mallet to get the old rubber off. Removing the old tire is easier than mounting the new one. Getting the new one on involves alot more tire iron/ rubber mallet. Like I said though, this was how I did it on 15's and 14's, not 17's and 18's. Probably WAY more difficult with less rubber to stretch.
And speaking of shady tire joints... I just got some used rubber put on my rear stockies a couple weeks ago. The dude (we'll call him Habbib) mounting them put them on the balancer, tested them, and told me they didnt have any weights that would work. As he was putting one of the wheels on the machine, the center cap popped of and he never noticed. And they used a pair of vice grips to remove one of the valve caps. It was fuggin stuck. They fugged up the threads, and tried to just slap a rubber cap on there. And for some reason took my other factory valve cap and put a rubber one on that side too. After he got em all on there, and took my money, I noticed he still hadnt put my center cap back on. I walked back next to the balancer, found it, and slapped it back on before I left. Oh well. I NEEDED rubber.

May be true, but would you be careless to drop the wheel like what happened to Jeremy though. That is all I'm trying to get at. Not all places are so willing to get you another wheel as has been previously posted, just was a dead end.
No I know what your saying and toally agree. I just mean it looks like the wheel is going to have the same chance of getting chewed up is all.

i was cringing at 2:18...ish. it looked like that metal bar was gonna slip and hit his face. haha. and it didnt look like this dude cared too much about his rims. i laughed when he first dropped it. and then it just keeped on happeing. LMAO!!!
also, i think those are the stock rx7 wheels.

it took him hella long to do that lol. a full day to do flip all 4 wheels.

BOY DO I HAVE A STORY FOR YOU GUYS! so i was driving with some homies last night on my way to a car meet in chino(55 miles from home). there was 4 of us, i was third in line. my friend in front of me ran over a piece of tire. it shot up maybe like 6 inches from the ground. it all happened so fast that i didnt have enough reaction time. so it hit my bumper. then i heard a constant scraping sound. first, i thought it was just stuck under my car, but then the sound got reeeaaalllly loud. like i was rolling on rim. all while going 65 mph. so i put my hazzards on and next thing i know, my car goes up like i ran over something and the sound goes away. i look at my rear view mirror and my front lip was flying and hit my friend's bumper with a tsx. luckily, no damage to him, but i am now missing a front lip. -______- so as of right now, im only rocking the rs1 left sideskirt and rear lip. im just gonna take out the skirt and only rock the rear lip now. until i can get enough money to buy a whole new kit. *sigh* the things i have to do for being hellaflush.
