Well, the tC doesn't ride the way I want it to, so that explains why I spent so much money on suspension/handling parts. I want brighter headlights too, so I will be eventually getting HIDs, and any other mods I may get in the future is for customization. I like to customize my possessions to make things more personal.
Well for me, it is my first brand new car. Their are something I do not like about the look or help to run better. Even if i get some that I mist up, like a scrap the rim or some bunghole who back in to my car. I might get better look bumper. Some of the other car do have better spc on their car, so might miss up some thing in the car. The tC is like a one of "blank canvas" that can make that one person happy.

Its not about how expensive of a car you can afford. Its about what you want to drive. And I would rather drive a $17K car that has $35K total into it thatis unique, than a $35K car that looks like the other $35K cars.
In my opinion I do it because I like to make the car more for me in my opinion. There aren't many cars that are post 2000 that I like. The tC is a great car, but stock it doesn't perform quite how I like. I'd rather dump money in it making it more how I like then buy another car I don't like.
Building or even just modifying a car makes it more mine, I did the work (or at least bought the stuff and had someone install it / help) and having parts that I like it make it more of a car that I like and am just all around happy driving and not regretting buying it or how it isn't this or that.
I've built a few cars and I had someone ask me why I don't just buy a car that has such and such already done. To me, buying a car where someone did all the work is no fun, I'd much rather pour tons of hours of labor and time (and money) into building my own project and saying proudly that I did it and not just bought it that way.

Since scions have become the "me too" car......i just want it to meet my personal taste....and make it different than all the other tCs out there......espically since 2 of my close friends have white tCs too.......therefore making it necessary for us to tell our cars apart.......lol
becuz your mom likes it? haha no im jp =p
i agree with the other people that said to be different than the other tcs around.. theres liek a dozen sw tcs up here but you can easily spot mine from the crowd =)
