it's pretty simple actually
the higher the Kelvin temp. , the more you can't see the road.
but I had 8000K before, and I thought it's not gonna bright on the road, but voila ..... it's still bright.
I drove out of town every weekend at night without any light at all on the road using 8000K
I'm still here alive and happy. :D

4300 (whitish) - 8000K (bluish) is the best range I can recommend to all of you

I can understand you are defensive, but please read the link I posted. .
ok. I already know HIDs and all the color BS.

Halogens produce somewhere between 800 and 1700 lumens of light. A 5800k bulb produces only 2400 lumen compared with a 4100k which produces 3200 lumens. That is 25% drop going from 4100k to 5800k. You are running 9000k... care to guess how many lumens you are producing from that ricey kit? The light may be more intense, but it is less light.
yes my kit does not produce as much light as a 4300K or a 5000K kit but I dont care because it has the color I want and it puts out A LOT MORE light than the stock bulbs. and I love my ricey kit!!!!

Also, lighting companies DO NOT MAKE bulbs that are rated higher than 6000k. The difference between that 6000k and your garbage 9000k is blue or purple coating on the bulbs. It is physically imposible to make a bulb higher than 6000k temp.
Actually they do. I have a 9000K kit and they claim its 9000k. AND GUESS WHAT. the bulbs are NOT colored or tinted in ANY WAY. want to see a pic. Also if you read my initial posts you will see that I say "they" not "me" is making the claim of 9000K. But I could care less like I said before because I like it and it puts out a lot more lights than stock.

Also the light you are producing is being lost in great abundance to glare due to a crappy cut off and bleeding light.
yea the cut off sucks but that is expected because this housing was NOT designed for HIDs. Thats in ALL cars and if you have a 4300K kit it will have crappy cut off as well.

AND you are lighting everything up blue, great looking, but poor light that will increase eye strain and fatigue.

actually like I said before its a lot more than the stock bulbs are putting out.

AND dont get me wrong. I am not here to have a ____ing contest. People asked and i answered. you are the one talking all the ish about my crappy cheap 9000K kit. All I can say is whatever dude. i am happy with it

Its really nothing against you, but when I drive at night and a civic is bouncing down the road with its garbage ebay HID and light is just spraying all over hell and creation, it makes me want to turn around, follow him, and smash his headlights when he stops.

I am glad you like your kit from your drivers seat, but it is a nuisance to others on the road.

[/end] ____ing match.

If you aim them properly you'll be fine. I know what you are talking about because i see it all the time. In fact last night a RSX had HIDs and they were not aimed properly and one was pointing really high. I was driving next to the guy and I wanted to say something but never got a chance. I am gonna tell you that mine are aimed pretty low and in the 4 yrs that I've had an HID hit maybe i got flashed 10 times. but than again the BMW and Audi stock HIDs blined you all the time too when they go over bumps. Only if the people took the time to aim them properly everything would be fine.

Also I got pulled over by CHP because he was in front of me and he said they were fine just a little too blue. He let me off with a warning and even complemented them. I asked him because he was cool, and not being a dick, and he said that if they were a little whiter it would be fine and they did not blined him when i was right behind him. In the 4 yrs with HIDs I got pulled over twice for them and this is in the Bay Area where they will pull you over for no front plates and give you a tix.

Don't plan on going through Ebay, can't trust anyone anymore.

I know someone who got an HID kit from www.autoaccessorystore.com. You can bargain with them. Just call and try to lower the price. They also promise good warranty. My friend didn't have to use a warranty yet, so I don't know how good is it, but looks very promising.

I hope it helps

Lower K whiter it is. Factory lights vary from 4500K to 5200K

More K bluish the light will be.

No they don't. ALL factory lighting is 4100k, that eventually color shifts to around 4350k.

I know that either OEM hid or retrofitting is the proper way to go but...

Does anybody know of any ~$300 ebay plug-and-play kits that won't put out too much glare on the tC? The x5 was recommended on here but I figure the color is too "illegal."

And also what temp would be the best that I don't get pulled over by cops? I hear 4300-4700k is yellowish-white, 5000k white, 6000k whiteish-blue (probably out of the question). Mostly I'm considering 4300k-5000k.

Default But it if you like it!

I don't remember what mine is, but I like it alot... its bright... once you use HID I don't think you'll ever go back.

Obviously for those who complain, they are staring at the lights. Keep you eye on the fn road... keep staring and it will only get brighter.

I agree for OEM HID components. With HID kits, oncoming drivers don't have a choice.
