Default just ordered

i just ordered my scion tc. auto, side air bags, shift ****, pedals, mud guards, led kit, b pillar, rear bumper protector. i gave 3 choices for the color, flint mica, black sand pearl, and classic silver. the dealer said 4-12 weeks. hopefully it will come sooner.

actually, you put in a request for a model. no such thing as ordering from toyota. that statement came from HQ. i've been trying to 'order' my tacoma for 6 months. bit ridiculous, really, but hey, i like their vehicles.

i know exactly what i want and they aren't common things. that and it's darn near immposible to get the sales guy to call you. i have to go down there and kick him around to get any results. you should get your tC just fine. they told me 2-6 weeks for my tC and i got it 3 days later. good luck.

what did you ask for with your scion. i had hoped giving 3 color options would help, but i don't know.

side bags and silver. anything else they can do at the dealership i believe. it's been a while since i ordered so don't quote me on that. maybe the power center mirror and the steering wheel have to be factory too.

Auto tranny and side airbags are the only two factory options, everything else is added at the dealership as an accessory.

I requested a really personalized tC. several options and only gave them one color choice, no other color was gonna cut it. I got mine in about 3 weeks. pretty good from what I have heard.

4-12 weeks, most dealers like to play it safe and tell you a range like this.

edit: after rereading your post they did tell you a range like this!

it also depends on when you ordered, they get their allotments on the 1st and 16th of every month (unless it falls on the weekend) if you order it like 2 days before that will get you the shortest time becuase the dealers can send lists of there "prefered" cars to the port distributor before their allotment is decided so they will have a higher chance of getting the car you want when their shipment comes in. also the bigger the dealership the higher chance of you getting the car quicker because they get the highest priority (my dealer, however, is really small only 3/4 scions on the lot at one time i think, they still got me my car in a timely manner, so this may not be that much of a problem)
your dealer is also a big part, the more they do to get you your car the faster you will get it.

the color plays a part in that if you color is in high demand then it will take longer, I had blue and i guess it wasn't that popular then, silver/mica/bsp - i want to say that at least two of these are in high demand, they only make so much of a certain color (high demand = more made)

the amount of options needed to install before you get it also makes it take longer.

......what was the question?

so the "order" wont really be placed till the 16th? i don't understand why they would only "order" the cars twice a month.

I put in a request for a NBM with side airbags and the auto- they quoted me two weeks, and I picked it up 12 days later.

*EDIT* Post was confusing. Reworded.

they don't normally put in an order unless they absolutely HAVE to. First they try to do a dealer trade... if that doesn't work, normally they try and request a certain car, and toyota will tell them what they're getting. That was the case with mine anyhow.... and i don't know for sure when i'm getting it.
