Default just thought i'd share

so earlier tonight i got together with a friend, his cousin, his mother and some other friends of ours for dinner. my buddies cousin and i started talking about our tc's (she has a maroon one) because the tc isn't too common of a car around here yet and her and i had only met once. somehow she said something about her car having a turbo "or something." i stopped and asked if she meant supercharger and she said no i think it has a turbo. i then told her i'd have to take a look after we finished eating. after dinner i went outside and looked under the hood and sure enough a trd s/c on her automatic tc. i was shocked. i asked if i could take it for a drive and she said no she is the only person who has driven it yet but she would take me for a spin. we went down a straight road and she took about 15 seconds to get up to the 45mph speed limit. at the stop light i told her to floor it and she refused :p

no one here probably cares about this pointless story. i'm just so jealous and i think it's funny she didn't even really know she had it nor does she care.

that is all. bye.

Its almost sad she has it. If she got it used from a private party and they didnt decide to "mark-up" for that s/c then theres no problem. But that s/c is a complete waste of money imo.

And theres no reason to be jealous, that s/c is only about a 40 whp gain. Dont bother with it, $3,000 for +40 whp isnt worth it. Spend $4,000 and get a nice turbo setup that will bank you about +100 whp with moderate boost.

LOL, I remembered the day I bought my car then in few weeks later, my friend researched about the tC and said tC means turbocharger. I was like huh? I do have turbo in my tC? then I checked under my hood and theres no turbo on top of my header or whatsoever.... My friend said "no no, I'm sure its under the header or maybe next to an intake or maybe next to the transmission." I laughed my ___ off and asked "Do you know what a turbocharger look liked?" He said kinda. I showed him everything on the internet and made him look under my hood and he felt like a fool haha. I told him its Touring Coupe from what I've heard off the website.

Its sad that people think they know about aftermarket stuff without researching more in depth.

It's like the same kind of sad as when people buy a car and don't know for SURE that there's NOT a turbo...

I'm just saying.

You would think though that if someone liked something enough to spend 18-20k on it, they would learn a little bit more about it.

I'd have to drive a tC with the auto/SC set up before I plunked down 3k. I made the mistake of buying the TRD exhaust for an autobox after hearing it on a 5 speed. The tranny completely steals the TRD exhaust's thunder IMHO

Her auto S/C would probably be a hint faster than a 5spd. N/A, because if she had no idea what was under the hood, chances are she is filling up with 87octane.
