I asked before hand if they where going to install it. Cause it's state law to have one here in Texas. Well my dealer doesn't do it so I don't have a holder on my. I just keep the plate in my glove box since the ticket is a fix it ticket. Though I realy dought your going to get a dealer to give you a new bumper over that.

Yep, the dealers do that. In most states it is the law to have a front plate. My dealership does it, I know how bad it sucks, both my tC had the drilled bumper....

I asked the dealer not to drill mine. He said is was the new law as of this year and dealers had to. But there's this thing that you can attach to the lower grill, so i told him I was going to do that. I'll have to wait to see when I get the car.

I doubt the dealer will give you a new bumper. California is also a state that requires a front license plate so it's something I will be looking forward to.

However, check this link out. Found it in a sig for one of SL's users! For new car buyers(like me!), you might be able to persuade your dealer not to put holes in your bumper if you've got one of these with you.

what's the thing that attaches to the grill? i just got my car but the dealer didnt drill any holes, so i dont have a holder as of now.

i know it looks better without, but i dont want to waste my time with a ticket either.

my dealer was nice enough to hold off on the drilling and give me the option of buying a bracket or whatever instead. Its a requirement in MD to have the front plate as well, although i have yet to put the front one on.

NJ requires a front plate too, but i told the dealer if they drilled into my bumper they are taking the car back, so i just ride around with my front plate in my car incase i get pulled over. thank god for PBA and FOP cards
