Today I noticed my key doesn't work unless I am about a foot from my car, I imagine that it is due to the fact the battery is low but ice had the car for only 1 year and 3 months and I would of searched but I'm on my phone in a hospital waiting room

 

Got one of the tCs in like October ish of 2004

Key still works and I've only ever used one of the keys.

 

Mine's 3 years old and the key's range isn't what it once was but I guess that's why they gave me two of them.

 

just pop it open and replace the batt...you can find them at drugstores and wal-mart, etc...

sometimes batteries don't last longer than 2-3 months, just replace it. I replace mine every year regardless they are only 4 dollars

The tC battery is minuscule compared to every other keyfob battery i have seen.

 

still using my original key battary since november 04. maybe you got a bad battary, but yeah, shouldn't be hard to replace. did that once for my explorer.

 

put the key up to your head and click you get about 10 extra feet :D

 

I have been using my original battery since Jan 05, but it really all depends on how many presses the keyfob has gone through.

Some keyfobs are designed to last 5 years at 80 presses a day. I would never see how a fob would be pressed 80 times a day, but I can tell you if you press the tC's key 80 times a day it wouldn't last 2 years.

 

i thought it was under ur jaw/chin...then there's one where u put the key under ur elbow... but the key under the chin really works.

 

well someone tested it on youtube worked by just stick it next to your timple area and clicking.. So yea im guessing it works
