Key problems
So today my key broke and i went to switch everything over to the switchblade key i got from ebay ( identical to the one in the DIY section) and the little transponder chip broke! So my dad towed it to the dealership, i couldnt go because i was at work, and when i got home i found out they gave me some piece of garbage generic toyota key. The problem is the original was the only scion key i had so now i dont have keyless entry! Can anyone tell me how to make the switchblade key work? I tried the DIYs on here and they didnt work!
Yea i know, but the transponder broke into a billion pieces! Oh well its not a big deal. I was just ____ed off that the dealership ripped me off like that! The good news is im about to get a job at the same dealership though lol
can't you take the new key the dealership gave you open it up and pull that transponder out then transfer your old guts from your broken key to the flip key? and when you get the flip key cut all you have to do is bring the dealership key in so they can copy it.
what you can do is go on ebay and buy yourself a Scion key for like $50 usually and then take it to a dealership and get it programmed to open your doors and get it programmed to start your engine for like $40. It's way cheaper than buying a new key from the dealership for around $200
