Key Quest

Key Quest
I did a search before posting and couldn't find information I was looking for. I lost one of my main keys and had a new one cut. I'm hoping anyone on here would know what the sequence to reprogramming the key is.
Thanks in Advance!

The keys r made with a transponder by texas instruments, the TC's dont have On-Board Programming...that i kno of....its done by a machine that copies the code from your original key, then u insert the blank key and it writes the code onto that key...a locksmith or a hardware store wuld be able to do it cheaper than the dealer...not all stores do it tho, i manage a hardware store and i just got the machine in....i charge about 35$ for them....

ANYTHING OVER $100 FOR A KEY IS BS!!!

Here is a key for $85. Ask your dealer to program it to your car or use the instructions they send you.
Now...
The keys have unique transponder in the fob that is programmed by the CAR. This transponder ID is learned by the car and is used by the immobilizer system. So if someone has a key that matches your car but the transponder is not learned the car will stall out to prevent theft.
The buttons are worked by a seperate system with a battery. They are also programmed where the key electronics is manufactured, not at toyota. The buttons also have a unique ID learned by the car. (The reason my fob wont unlock your car)
The transponder is powered up by a coil around the ignition through LF (Low Frequency). This way when your tiny key fob battery dies you can still start the car without it stalling.
You better have engineered the keyfob if you wish to argue as I make keyfobs at work and know whats up
