That sucks. I agree that you should get Scion corp. involved. I also can't believe they don't have the specs for alignment as it should be in their tC repair manual.

Just like what everyone else said, talk to 2 people. Your insurance company and Scion Corp. If your insurance doesn't get it cleared up, Scion definatly will. Also demand a free accessory of your choice and make em install it too.

Thanks everyone so much for all the support and advice. I do very much plan to get Scion Corp. involved, especially if this is not quickly resolved to my satisfaction. I have already consulted with a lawyer, but I haven't decided the extent to which he will be involved.

As far as involving the insurance company, I do not plan to right now. The reason is that this actually can be used against me to raise my rates. The way insurance companies work now is that any incident, whether your fault or not, can be used to calculate your risk factor. I know this because I got hit and a hit-&-run & later they counted it against me in raising my rates.

We have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning with the general manager/co-owner, who is the one who apprised me today of the dealership's decisions in this matter. We'll see how the meeting goes & then make some big decisions from there. I'll let you all know how everything goes. Thanks again everyone!

Can you tell me a little more about this story? I'd be very interested to hear all the details. Or can you tell me how to get in touch with him to talk to him about his experience? It was Koons of Annapolis who wrecked his tC?

honestly....SOME dealers r delayed in gettin the specs for the alignment machines

toyota does not provide the specs, the companies that make/sell the alignment machines provide the dealers with updated specs

each dealer has different alignment machines, so it varies

we didn't get our specs until oct./nov., soo....it all depends

Well, the meeting with the general manager went very well. He and the dealership are working very hard to make sure I am happy with the resolution of this situation. They have decided to replace my vehicle and it will be about 2-4 weeks for me to receive my new tC. They also offered to keep me in the loaner Camry they gave me until my new car comes in.

I am sooo relieved that they decided to do this for me! I was just so upset that I had bought a perfect car & it was ruined. But Koons has definitely held up their promise of customer satisfaction. They made a mistake, but they've made every effort to make it better. And believe me- there has been a lot of time & energy spent on their side to make this happen for me. I still am very happy that I chose Koons to buy my tC from and will continue to be a customer there.

The best thing to do it to notify your insurance company and let them work everything out for you. To fix a quarter panel "properly" is pricey you can always bang it out and bondo etc the crap out of it. But you have a brand new car you dont want anything dont cheap. From what it sounds like your estimate should be A lot higher then $750.00

Do you happen to have any pictures of what your car looks like on here?

Thanks everyone who keeps posting. But please note the situation is being taken care of. I do not need to worry about repairing my car, since the dealership is replacing it.

PLEASE READ THE UPDATES!

I just thought about the fact that I had my windows tinted two days before I took my tC into the dealership. It sucks- now I'll have to pay to have them tinted again!

Thank you everyone for your support. I'll keep everyone posted how it turns out.

I called corporate when my car was sitting untouched after my accident for 60 days. I had a 2500 dollar rental car bill, of which my insurance company covered 1000 of, Scion covered another 1000 and I only had to come up w/ the 500. They take care of their customers very well. I don't think any other manufacturer would have done the same.
