I asked my dealer about the holes in the bumper and they told me they "learned the hard way".

They used to do this to their cars and had a customer that refused to sign the paperwork as mentioned above. The dealer had to replace the front bumper and has NEVER done this since that day - UNLESS the customer asks for it to be done!

Is there any way for the dealer to just patch and paint those holes? I don't care if there is enough bondo to fill two little dimples. Honestly I just wish it was an easy fix because I don't want to go through the hassle of having someone remove and replace the front bumper. Ideas? I just want this to not be a hassle for either of us. I know it's the law up here and I know that it's pretty standard practice to put the little dealer paper plates on. I know I don't have to sign, but I also know how hard it is to find a car in my color with SAB and a manual transmission - I'm not gonna walk out and I'm sure they know that.

If you call them now and you get lucky, they won't do it. The problem is there area few salesmen and they don't put the plates on anyway. They'd have to tell the right guy and that guy would have to remember when your car (which looks just like all the other ones) comes in. If you tell them and make it real clear, odds are they still might do it, but you could just refuse shipment until they fix it. Which I'm sure they will if you wait it out. It's just going to be a pain in the ___.

You better hope you have a clean car to use that one.

The one I always used to use was that I was using the car in a film I was shooting and didn't want to expose the plate numbers.

Either that or depending on the shape of the bumper I said that I hit a curb and it knocked the plate off.
