License plates
I requested for my front bumper to not be drilled, but the dealer drilled them once they found out i wanted to buy it. I drove around for two weeks w/o a front license plate. I finally decided to put it on since i had the holes already and i was headed to the county courthouse to pay a couple fees. I didn't want to get a silly ticket and pay even more.
I got lucky. Lived in PA, no front plate law. Moved to AZ, no front late law. =) I think that's why I chose to move to this state. hahaha
But if I had to, I'd sport the bracket one. That way you can take it off for shows.

I've been driving in Cali without it pretty much every day for the last 6 months. I've never been pulled over specifically for the plate. They don't pull you over just for that, but it's a good way to make your list of violations longer if you are doing something else wrong.
i have a 2008 tc
does anyone know if the license plate bracket from eight08customs will fit the grill?

Yah, i got pulled over a while ago in my mazda and had it in my front window, it was a 101$ fine. in washington the stater told me that it had to be "between 1 and 3 feet off the ground with nothing blocking it" so i guess in window was more then 3 feet and had a thick sheet of glass in the way.
not sure this helps but i would reccomend against having it in the window in washington state. mazdas and civics get busted for it but corvetts and vipers can get away with it no problem.

I've had mine on for the last couple years (stupid dealer drilled it even though I asked not to) but I'm thinking about taking it off to see if it's still clean underneath. If it is, I'm thinking about getting the color-matched plugs from www.bumperplug.com - I think they're cheaper if you buy a couple sets at once. Anyone want to go in with me on some Flint Micas? Then maybe just build a bracket for the lower grill, if I decide to do anything at all.
^ The Flint Micas are not a good color match. If you buy from there, you will be buying a Volkswagen color which is a bit lighter than Flint Mica. That's the closest they can give you for our color.
Most states require it actually. I'm from Cali and live in WA now - both did, but I never got in trouble for it in the 5 or so years I didn't have it on my car in Cali. Having said that, I did get two speeding tickets in California (with no front plate) and got two speeding warnings in WA (with front plate). It could be a bunch of things, including a coincidence, but I think that many cops who are on the fence will give you a ticket if you're breaking some little rules and maybe let you off if you aren't.
