Default Lightweight Braille Battery Review

I have had the Braille battery(B14115 / 11lbs) for about 5 months now which dates back to the colder months where I live. There were no starting issues whatsoever.

My car also sat for 3 weeks while I was out of town and started right off when I returned.

The Braille battery bracket fits perfectly where the OEM battery plate mounting holes are. The thread size(6mm x1) are the same for the mounting holes and braillle bolts. I just used a double sided stud and then mounted the Braille bracket as normal. No difficult or permanent modifications.

Overall the Braille battery and bracket will save 30lbs and costs about $250. For me I am very pleased and will switch to a smaller battery in all future cars as I like the space savings as well as weight reduction.

I wouldn't recommend it with other accesories. I think this thing is good being stock, something else, and prepare to stay on the side of the road one day. IMO.

What do you mean by lights? I have no problem with A/C in the summer or any dimming of OEM lights.

No idea on stereo system as mine is stock in this car except head unit but that all depends on your alternator and stereo system as well. Heavy bass is what draws power and even full size batteries need caps installed at some point.

Yeah mostly i worry about the HID's....i have tons of leds but those dont matter.....i have a bazooka sub but nothing serious....but i also run strobes at shows.....

I was just curious if this battery is comparable to the output and lasting of the OEM

You would have to check on the specs of the battery.

Battery mount seems a little pricey... will the j-hook battery mount kit for $14.99 work or better yet.. will the stock battery mount work for this battery?

The standard battery mount will work but I didn't like it aesthetically. You have this big white plastic tray and long cross arm across the top that a now much smaller battery. Looked like crap. I enjoyed getting rid of that tray and large metal brace for the bigger battery.

I used a ratchet tie down that worked perfect also until I recived the battery mount. A black one won't look too bad if you don't care about looks.

An update on the battery. We have had cold weather(18-35 degrees) where I live for a month or so now and the Braille battery has fired my car up without any hesitation so far.

If this battery continues to work as it does now throughout the rest of winter I'll be a very satisfied customer and use this battery for much lighter weight in my next car as well.

If it's smaller it uses a better chemical composition than the bigger ones.

As long as it's built to last, I bet it will outperform the larger ones in terms of quality of power signal.

This would also be a sweet battery for car audio.

How is he an idiot? I see no incorrect facts in his post.
