Default Limited Edition?

Just traded in my xB for a tC.
I got the Azure Pearl 5spd.
Normally I would never buy a car this color; but after staring at it in person for about 3 minutes, I really started to appreciate the paint. It's pretty damn hot.

Anyways, everybody at the dealership was saying that this color is limited edition (like the Hot Lava xB) and only 100 were made. Is there any truth to this or was it just some salesman bullsh!t? Just curious; couldn't find any supporting info online.

The only thing limited edition about that color was when it was on the Lexus SC 430 Pebble Beach Edition. The TC I test drove was an AP. It looked different than the Pebble Beach SC that I have seen in person. Very close though. I recently did a color search for Lexus/Toyota/Scion for Azure Pearl and it came out for both Lexus and Scion.
Dont listen to those bastard salesmen.

I'd have to agree... I loathe salespeople. I take everything they say with a grain of salt

Don't pick on salesman too much, if you like the color, then you liked it......

I say that, cause I work as a car salesman. working for Infiniti, but will quit in 2 weeks to move on to an Audi/Porsche dealership in Pasadena

When I had customers on the G35 Coupe, I told them straight up, the Carribean Blue is the least popular color...... sometimes though, we have bonus's for selling a certain car that won't move very easily..so either you fell for it, or really liked color

My dealer didn't say it was limited (I got the azure pearl as well), but he did say it wasn't the favorite color so it would be more "unique". Quite frankly I didn't really care; I just liked that color. Ironically, the dealer didn't go so far as to suggest I'd "get laid" in the car, but my grandfather did lol. The dealer did say it'd turn heads. No matter your opinion on that, on the way home there were a few people actually hanging out their car windows gawking at my car (which makes me feel uncomfortable personally).

I've heard complaints that the car is boring looking (in reviews), but it's just right to me. I like for things to not be blocky (which is why I don't really care for the xB etc), but I like them reserved as well. You wouldn't see me with a wing or spinning rims etc on my car. :-/

LOL Thanks for the responses. :D

I bought that particular car because I think the color is stunning. not because of what the salesman said.
I was 99% sure that it was BS, especially the statement that only 100 were made. I just wanted to confirm with the people who actually know what's up!

Not all of us wake up in the morning and think of ways to screw the public. The guys at your dealership were either wrong or lying. I have actually helped people in ways that most dealerships would frown on. For example, I had a customer needing a cheap used car and another customer wanting to sell their car instead of trading (even thoug we offered $500 more than they expected the car was worth). I set them up in contact with each other, and they worked out a deal with each other for the used car. Then I sold the new xB. I actually sacrificed a used car sale just to help make someone happy. I never had to volunteer that. Yesterday I helped a guy set his truck up on E-Bay because he is upside down and may get more money on there. If that sounds like I am a bastard, then please go inform my son of that so he doesn't grow up to be like me.

I wasn't trying to start a revolution against car dealers. I was just trying to confirm/deny the myth.

I'm sure that we all realize there are good and bad members of all professions.

Default Azure Pearl = Rare.....not Limited Edition

From the pipeline ratios, they're only making the Azure Pearl in about 5% of the TOTAL tC line produced, so in one sense it IS rare.....just not no Limited Edition.

I'd just say you got a stupid salesman.....
