Default looking to buy a tC

hello people, my name is rick and i my girl wants to get a new car, the car will be our daily driver so whenever we are together and going somewhere i will most likely driving it. and the fact that i will be making the payments on it so i guess it will be my car just as much as her's.

i told her about the TC, she liked the honda civic coupe. after driving the TC she likes it alot. and we both think they look hot.

soooooo......

right now we are looking at a white 08 TC auto and it has about 10-20 miles on it, (i wanted the 5 speed but its for her so) the dealer wants $18500 for it.

now all the places that i've been looking have told me their are NO talking down on price, the sticker price is what it will sell for.

how much of that is true?

well. what do you people like about the scion, what do you dislike? have you had any problems with anything?

and what should i look for when i go back friday to see it again?

are all the TC's the same when they are new? or do some have different things? like when i bought a lexus IS300 a certan code would tell you if had posi traction, ect.

so, tell me what you think,

and hopefully i will be a regular member here.

thanks
rick

First off, the tC is a great choice, I love mine more every day. As far as I can tell it is true that they do not negotiate, the sticker is the selling price and I think it's reasonable. Also, pretty muh everything is standard, the only real option is navigation. Everything else you can add on, but honestly i felt like the car was loaded to begin with. SL has been great though, its a great community here and i've learned a lot about my car from the people here.

dont get the honda! trust me youll be glad you got the tc. especially if you customize it a little bit. i dont mean anything too crazy just a few mods to make it stand out a little and get some second looks when you pass by.

Yea. negotiation is a no go at the dealerships. But 18500, correct me if I'm wrong, is a lot. i know I bought mine just last year for 15,500, altho mine was a manual spec. Definitely get the tC, you'll have alota fun with it. LEGO CARS FTW!

Only time I'd take a civic over a tC is if it's an Si, Even then i'd have second thoughts, Then again. when you get into that price range I'd rather take a Mazdaspeed3.

nothing wrong with a Honda, their great cars with amazing engines. Of course everyone on here will vote tC and say dont be a ricer and get a Honda. Anywho, the tC is great. Cheap paint, rattles, and ugly interior material is just some of the things i started to dislike as i saw more and more cars that i did like an compared to as the RSX-S and Civic SI. Overall its still a Toyota and of course they make great engines aswell. I still like my tC and still baby it as i did from day 1. it will be a great choice either way.

Ok i work at toyota and any price you can negotiate. plus don't forget toyota also sells the tc for 14 thousand completely stock "brand new" manual trany, the car is primarily for people who are going to hook it up. but its still fourteen thousand with 0 miles. But i wouldn't get the civic unless it was the si. But if it wore up to me i would get the scion...all day.

i got mine for 18,xxx out the door, 5spd with no options, because, of course, my dad was yelling "NO OPTION" the whole 2 hrs we were at the dealer. no problem with that, since all the dealer add-ons are rip-offs anyway. and even if you don't like the tC now, do a few mods, customize it to exactly how you want it, and you'll be addicted to it.

Mine was 17,800 for an 08 Auto. The manuals are 800 bucks cheaper.

yeah, pure pricing, the price doesn't come down, but you CAN bargain with interest and with the warranty cost. It is a good deal though, mine in 05 out the door (a lot of options though) was 22k
