Looking for a Scion tC Radio
I have a 2008 tC and was wondering if there was an after market radio that still allowed me the use of the controls on the steering wheel and the ipod cable in the elbow compartment. I wonder if there is a radio out there with a large screen for watching video also has a gps function. I would also like a remote control but it's not a deal breaker if it doesn't come with one. Does anyone know of any stereos that fit this description or if there is a way to mod an after market stereo to still utilize the steering wheel controls and ipod cable in the center compartment? Thanks

I've seen other industry terms for the steering wheel audio controls, but most commonly called "PAC". When looking for an aftermarket HU, inquire if it either comes with/or if an adapter is available for it. There are so many HU's on the market, that might be a good way to go about your search.

I just started looking for the same thing for my 2009 with my Kenwood HU, this appears to be the easiest solution for steering wheel controls:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...SWC-8113H.html or http://www.amazon.com/Metra-2003-Up-...dp/B005FB9A0A/
and
http://www.amazon.com/Metra-ASWC-Uni...dp/B0039H2W66/
That seems to work with most aftermarket headunits that support steering wheel control.
As for AUX/iPod, I'm still working on figuring that out. I don't know of one that has supports the stock plugs, but I'm looking for harnesses that will break out the AUX and iPod wiring from the elbow console back at the head unit so I can wire up appropriate adapters.
As far as iPod itself goes, I think the best idea is going to be to rewire harnesses/adapters on each end as a USB port instead of iPod, that'll give you the best compatibility with most aftermarket head units since many support iPod over USB.
I've a thread here where I'll be posting any progress I make toward getting this working: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho....php?p=4081822
