Default loose parking brake handle

I could just be paranoid, but it seems that my parking brake handle is getting loose. It seems to be getting worse, and I can jiggle the handle left and right a little more than i'd like. Is this normal? I would feel better about it if someone else had this problem. The brake seems to be working fine, but the handle is loose. I only have about 1500 miles on my tC. Any input will be helpful. Thanks.

Mine is not loose. I'd notice because back in the day I had an 88 camry where the handle was so loose you'd think it was going to fall off. It totally wobbled from side to side, but nothing bad ever came of it - just very wobbly. Your car is under warranty - have them fix it next time you're at the dealer.

Mine does have some play side to side. I just noticed this a couple days ago and I have had my tC since Dec. No biggie really. I would prefer it not to move but oh well.

Yea, when I take mine in for the next service I'm going to ask them to check the handbrake. It has play side to side when not engaged, but when you pull it up it doesn't have that play. I assume it's just from stretching and use since the 5speed needs you to use it more than an auto.

Yea... mine is loose and it also catches really high up... i went to the dealer to get my sunroof and hatch fixed and i told them about the hand brake... and they said "yea, you are suppose to adjust that every 5k and it cost 45 bucks" sounds like BS to me since i never had to adjust the e-brake on any of my old cars... my gf's tc on the otherhand has very lil play and catches really low... but her's is a newer and it's an auto... so i don't know

its just the nut that keeps the handle there.. it doesnt have anything to do with the brakes in the back... mine has lots of play.. and engages high.. but i dont care, it works and works good so its cool
