Default Low tire indicator light problem???

hey, wassup guys. i am having problem with my low tire pressure indicator light. my driver's side tire was separating, so i bought a new tire from sears. the brand of tire was kumo. they were the same exact size tires too. well, about 500 miles later, the low pressure indicator light came on. i checked all the tires and they were at their normal psi reading, 32psi in the front, and 29psi in the rear. i had also tried reseting the light in the glove capartment a couple of times and the light still keeps coming back on. i called the dealer and they told me that the new tire probably had nothing to do with the problem, but possibly it could be the sensor. they want me to bring it in for a checkup, but i am out of warranty. anyone here knows or had similar problems??? can anyone help me out before i end up at the dealership, where they will charge me more than i am asking for???

My sensor came on but I had air leaking from one of my tires. I was very glad this car came with the tire pressure sensor.

How can you be out of warranty? Isn't the basic warranty 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first? Your tC cannot have over 36,000 miles!!!

It might be damage to your rim. Try holding down the reset button for the TPM and let it reset. You also don't want 1 odd tire out. That could be the cause as well. How many miles do you have on the other tires? If the tread's a lot lower the 1 new one will spin a lot faster.

If you want I have a couple of stock potenzas i want to get rid of for a good price.

I have all 225/40 -18's on motegi DP6's. I work at a sears tire shop. all my tires match and are worn about the same. My light comes on EVERYDAY after driving about 8mi on the hwy to work. According to the book the system might not work right when its below freezing...however it has been in the high 30's and low 40's when doing this.

Any ideas?

Thanks
