Low Tire Presure Warning Light, But tires are actually Over
my tire presure waring light just went on on my tc
I checked the tires and they are all over presure not under
I had read that the plant over fills the tires for transport
is it possible that the presure sensor was set to that higher presure and now that some has leaked it's going off thinking that they are low?

the light doesn't indicate LOW tire pressure.....it indicates a CHANGE or DIFFERENCE in tire pressure.....it's done by measuring something to do with rotation amount and rotating mass I believe......if you check all tires and get them to the same pressure, then reset the light, it will be all good....

hehehe
ok it's prebably my fault
I didn't phrase the question properly
thanks for the replies
I'm not having a problem resetting it
I know how the thing works
was just funny that the low tire presure light goes off and all the tires are OVER presure
like I said, I had read that the plant over fills the tires for transport
has anyone else had a problem with the sensor being set to an overinflated presure?
was funny to my eye the one tire looked low, and it turned out to have the most air in it
I'm going to adjust them to 32/29 and reset the sensor

Overpressure doesn't make a diff if ALL the tires are over pressure.
So, after resetting the light and your tires are at the same pressure, if it still comes on, then take it to the dealer.

However, all 2006 model year cars (and the 2005 tC I suspect) must use a direct method, which uses pressure sensors to directly measure pressure.

Sounds like your're just hitting the reset button until the light turns off. You need to hold it until the light blinks to reset the system. That will keep the light from coming on until you actually have a pressure problem.

As far as the NHTSA requriements go only 20% of new cars are required for the 2006 model year. It is not required on all cars till 2008. Considering the amount of cost cutting they did on Scions, I doubt you will see it on them till 2008.
