mmmm...well if he IS telling you the truth i would say no biggie, but if people have test droven it and stuff i would see about that....alot of people drive it like they stole it when they test drive it. I got mine with a whopping 6 miles on it, and i would make him order me a new one if it had more that 100 miles on it...but im super picky about people abusing stuff that im payin 20k for

Wouldn't a dealer trade be moved on a trailer and not driven?

^^^^ not really. If the customer insits then sure but the onbly time a dealer will usually trailer it is if it will be about 500 miles or so of a trip.

Your car is not used unless it has been titled already. No worries....just enjoy your car.

yeah they should use trailer or something, but every dealer tells about swaping from other dealer or something if it has high milege on it. Are they telling truth or what? My guess is it's been used for test drive and they just hide it for some reason.

^^^In my case it came from florida which is 400-300 miles away depending on which part. I only had 6 miles on it when they gave it to me. They drove it to the gas station and back to fill up the gas for me.

It's a distinct possibility that your car was test driven. And even more possible that the dealership is lying because they know that most people would rather have a brand new, undriven car. However, I don't think that you should worry about it too much. I mean, you've got a warranty right?

^^^^ I wouldn't waste your time IMHO. You still have a full warranty from the mileage you purchased it at. Just enjoy your car and stop worrying. I understand we all want a car with under 10 miles but eventually it just doesn't matter. You can try and get a few bucks back but I am pretty sure all you will do is embarass yourself when they say "if it was a problem then why did you buy it?

We do this all the time too. Dealers do this to get the desired car to the customer quicker. It's called dealer trading. For instance here in Washington we get cars sometimes from Oregon dealerships or Idaho dealers. However, you cannot negotiate the price because of Scion's pure pricing. But you could not accept the car and request one with less miles on it. But just to comfort you, the people who drive our trades to us are older and drive the cars very easy lol...

Yeah, I know a few select people a total a**es on test drives, but the majority aren't going to beat the crap outta the car.

I have a couple of friends who used to do dealership transfers. Drive one car from one dealer in exchange for another. Odds are someone at the dealer in NY wanted a model with specific features and didn't want to wait for it to be manufactured, so they found the nearest dealer with the one requested.

Of course now I got mine with 4 miles on it, so I know that it had not been used for any test driving. It literally came off the trailer and was mine.

If that mileage amount is an issue to you, than you ought to see if they can get you one that is fresh off the truck. Also I would hope that they discounted it slightly because it already is about a third of the way through it's break-in period.

Well they might but more than likely they won't since they are not supposed to. See as long as the car hasn't been registered it's a new car, and since Scion has pure pricing, they can't offer the car at lower than the "menu" pricing. The only way to get around this is to have the car as a demo, but then it would need about 5k on the odo before they could discount it.

yeah, it would take some serious deliberate abuse to hurt a tc from behind the wheel. besides, they are a pretty solid car, i got 35k on mine now, still feels new cept alittle better with the bolt-ons and stickier tires.

I would ask for a price adjustment or something....I was actually thinking about this while I was waiting for my car but it only had 10 miles on it when I got it so it was no big deal.
At least get like 10 free oil changes or something of that nature. free ____ is always good

I'm not 100% sure, but 200 miles between NY and Boston MA seems about right.
Aside from Scion security, I think you'll be using 2 key fobs when you get an alarm system.
