Major problem with the transmission but ONLY when cold??? Help
I have a 2007 scion tc auto, about a month ago, i noticed in the morning, when the engine was cold (I live in the midwest), the car would rev and not shift into 1st and 2nd gear right away, and after revving then kicking into gear violently. if engine warms up, it smoothly shifts ( when engine is warm ) then this morning ( cold engine again) i put car in reverse, and it stalled..let it sit for about 5 minutes to warm up, then worked fine again..confused on why tranny shifts fine when the engine is warm, but on start ups, it revs and delys shifts, and kicks..? help!!!
It got to the point where even when car was heated up i could tell something was broken in transmission (due to this problem in the cold). I had a very good trustworthy shop rebuild my trans 2 weeks ago and they showed me many little metal pieces had chipped and put the new parts in. Cost me a lot of money. But within 24 hours of them rebuilding my trans the exact same thing is happening only in the first 2-5 minutes of driving when the car is cold after that it shifts like butter.
The shop said they will rebuild it again at no cost. First to figure out what is going on before I bring it in so I thought I would post on the scion forum and hopefully someone has some ideas. I will be bringing the car to be left overnight with them on Monday so would like as much info/ideas on what the potential problem/solutions are???
Thanks. I love the car, really wish I could figure this out before it causes more damage. Currently I am letting the car warm up before running it but it still does it in the first few minutes of driving regardless.
P.S We drove around for 20 minutes with the computer plugged in and the car warm and nothing comes up.

i really don't ever recommend after market rebuilds. they use after market parts. im not talking like upgrades like level ten. they use cheap parts. nothing is better then factory rebuilds. anywho did they replaced all the shift solenoids or sensors. sounds like the a-b shift solenoid is getting stuck.
