auto unless you have serious plans of doing something in performance mods to it, other than that there is no point to having a manual, especially in a scion. Higher end sport car, yes.

That is the worst excuse I have ever heard. Nobody twisted your arm to get a car right away. You could have waited and got the manual tC like everyone else. BTW, I waited for my manual tC and I love it. LOVE IT!

The tC is not worth a dime in auto. Maybe if the auto was sequential but its not.

that may be one of the most retarded things i have ever heard, thats like saying a civic si should be an automatic cause its not a "high end" sports car. or an R32 volkwagen or any of those cars that ONLY come in stick shift (MS3, MS6) etc

I had to get an auto for a few reasons. Primarily because I was not allowed to have a manual as my first car. My parents were buying the car so I had to agree with what they said. Sure I wanted to drive stick, but I wouldnt be able to get a car so auto is the way I had to go. For my parents, they believe its eaiser to drive auto and thus will make me a better driver because I only have to focus on the road and not shifting. Also, if there is an emergency of any sort, they need to be able to drive my car. They both havent driven a stick in a long time and needlessly to say, they dont want to relearn.

For my next car I would like to try a manual in any case.

The tC is a 16k 160 161ish? hp. In my opinion if you are not going to do serious performance mods to it, or unless you LIKE manual, there is no reason for it. I love how the manual kiddies have to bash the idea of an auto like it even matters. especially in a tC. Now I am not against manual or auto. I would choose manual over auto in a few circimstances. A more sporty car than the tC I would choose manual. Some of the quotes in this thread were priceless.

manual would cause less accidents? really? I highly doubt with the level of stupidity from the average person that this is even close to right. You will always have people trying to text while driving regardless of the circimstance, plus with manual there are more mistakes to be made.

Auto cars drive you and you drive manual cars? lol..

I would NOT choose a manual if it was a daily driver/ my only car - personal preference here.

The hardcore manual kiddies are just as bad in my eyes as the people that think cars are gender specific.

^^yay so i have to own a "performance" car to have a manual because otherwise it wouldnt be practical. once again on of the dumbest things i have heard.

this has nothing to do with auto vs manual because i have owned both. I can say for me i enjoy driving a manual more than an auto.

It seems practical that if you want to have more fun then you would add more things to increase performance. If you have looked at any website such as dezod or ptuning, you would see that turboing an automatic is very limited. Thus a manual is a good candidate for driving if you are going to increase performance.

so I guess an EP3 160 Base hp civic si shouldn't come in manual bc its not a high end performance sports car

so I wonder why a injen intake was bought for a non high end performance automatic then

LOL that may have been so retarded again
